Re: PR 1.3 is live now! (Released 25 October 2010)
I couldn't update via the application manager (even though I had 86MB free in my rootfs, and the update only needs about 84.5MB free), and then I tried updating via PC Suite and Ovi Suite, but both are rubbish with the N900 and usually just throw errors while trying to update, so finally I managed to update via the 'Faster Application Manager'.
Now everything is updated, but besides the fact that the device seems to be running a bit faster, I don't see any difference... |
Re: PR 1.3 is live now! (Released 25 October 2010)
I have done upgrade through Faster Application Manager..But, I do not see much improvements..(or I would say that I failed to notice improvement in performance.)..So far noticed that whenever I receive call, my call UI does not flicker..also I felt browsing OVI catalogue is much faster..(but that depends on internet speed? Earlier at same speed..OVI store was bit slower..)
What is the best way to know that you are really running 1.3..I checked from settings->about product..I see that version is 20.2010.36.2 . But, does that really mean PR 1.3 is successfully installed? Why these questions..because FAPMAN did not ask me to reboot...I have done that manually and saw not much difference in performance now ..So what am I missing to notice in PR1.3? |

Seems like I was right! I knew it is coming :D
And people said I'm lying in my previous post. When Nokia uploading it to the Repository the App Manger can sometimes detected the changes and then it appeared in my App manager but the size is still Zero is because of the upload hasn't completed or still not yet get the green light. Now I'm going to say: I told you so. :D |

POS.. when trying OTA it says it can't update need to do it via pc suite. Installed pc suite aftere removing ovi since ovi said no updates, pc suite recognizes the device and said to install updater as this one is not working anymore. so installed NSU separately than it keeps searching for device and says device not found try again.. This is even when pcsuite shows it's connected to n900. POS company and software support for n900 all i can say. Glad i moved on to iphone 4 since last ttwo months.

When I try ti upgrade Maemo 5, I click on details and then the problems tab.
It says unable to Install Maemo 5 because I'm missing Hildon-Desktop?? Whats up with that?? |
Re: PR 1.3 is live now! (Released 25 October 2010)
Can anyone confirm the number of packages for this Update pack? I was checking on FAM and saw Maemo 5 but did not choose it, I just chose to update 1 of my apps, but no idea why it downloaded the PR 1.3 and is installing. Number of packages shown on my FAM: 1042 - 1043. I'm just afraid it can not finish because it will remove FAM (a 3rd party app).

Re: PR 1.3 is live now! (Released 25 October 2010)
is this normal? I have my phone attached via usb and am using ovi suite to download the image. It has gotten 13mb in 45 minutes.
also is it installing it to the phone as it goes or is it just putting it on my laptop? because I would hate to have my phone unusable with its usb connected for like 10 more hours. plus with the delicate connection my 2 year old is going to knock this cable out for sure when she is home in an hour :( |
