Does FastSMS work for you?

Try removing both FastSMS and FastSMSEvo using purge?

Code:

root
apt-get purge FastSMS FastSMSEvo
apt-get clean
apt-get purge
apt-get clean
reboot

Once your N900 has rebooted, reinstall both FastSMS and FastSMSEvo

Code:

root
apt-get install FastSMS FastSMSEvo
apt-get clean
reboot

Once your N900 has rebooted open up Conversations application IN LANDSCAPE and try to call FastSMSEvo by clicking on the text area.

Let me know if it works now :)

The problem was so simple. My VKB was even turned on. LOL.

Thanks for the help anyways.

Is it possible after writing the text we can click a button say 'Done' or something to minimise the keboard instead of clicking on the vacant area on the top, something like Opera VBK

Thanks for the this VKB.

Would it be possible to program a button so that when in the web browser, that button would appear on the keyboard and pressing it would then close the keyboard and then press enter?

ie. When entering a URL or a searching via google?

Not all websites have finger friendly "go" buttons so this feature would make web browsing in portrait easier :)

Just type an Enter (it's right next to the space bar in the vkb) in the text box you're entering the text into. Most of the time it registers it exactly like it would a normal hardware keyboard Enter key press.

Most of the time but the thing is, the way I suggested would reduce the need for me to press enter, and then close the keyboard myself ect.

Add the option to display the keyboard using a gesture, for example from the proximity sensor to start the gesture would facilitate use in applications that use the keyboard but do not have a text field to activate the virtual keyboard. An example is the contacts application.

How do I write an application "Terminal X" a command to detect the "enter" key without opening the physical keyboard?

So...for people that noticed problem with the opening of fastsms: try to start (ONLY the firrst time after a reboot) from icon. then DONT CLOSE but use the button to return to application manager and then try to use message web, or what you want....
The first time, when fastsms is not still loaded in memory, every tap in text field cause fastsms to restart the load from start and it don't works well in portrait conversation (I'm talking only at first boot).

Second point: I have found an easy way to manage non latin-layout for qwerty...What I need is a text file with the four character for each key in this order:
Normal, shift on, '123' layout on, ' ' ' layout on, '123' + shift, ' ' ' + shift

For example, for the actual keyboard (for the first key):
q Q 1 å § Å
second key is the one with 'w' and so on...

NB: please use UTF-16

I will answer to other message very soon...thank you to you all!

hey, realsportcars, i am making right now a layout for a russian language, and have so a few questions: Can you make for russian layout another numbers of buttons. It's so right now:
10 in a first row
9 in a second
and only 7 in a third one
i know i can use those two in a 4th row, but is it possible to have a different number of buttons for diferent layouts?
and one more: I am doing it in a wordpad, is it OKAY? i don't really know how to transfer all data in UTF-16...

I'd rather have the extra key room than that spare button.

That said, I think some of the stuff being suggested would force recoding hildon-input-method itself, instead of being implementable from the plugin itself.

the enter button does not do what youre saying. When pressing enter it moves the cursor to next line .
