Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
I just used AndApp and wait for it to load after connecting to a wifi. Then tested a few apps, like dictionaries and few games. Next I will install a browser to manually install packages, I suppose just by running apk files. Not sure Android has an apt like cli for app management.
Ohh, anyone manage to increase font size in NITroid? Especially for the terminal emulator. The set font-size 9pt is so small to use it conveniently. |

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
For anyone having trouble installing apps in android - Install 0.0.3.1 rootfs from pg84.
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
you can only have access for apps after installing 0.0.3.1. i have the same but dont know why i m getting "not enough space" msg. one more thing, when i go to my sd card from the menu it is showing my 32 mb internal flash as sd card. i belive thats the reason. any solutions for that?

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
I booted it up the first time, it seemed to work but no wifi of course. Everybody says it doesn't work till the 3rd boot or so.
Every boot after the first goes to the Android desktop, with clock, battery, and network icons on the top, nothing else. It sits there for about 2 minutes and goes to a flashing cursor for about 10 sec or so (maybe less), then blank screen. What is going on? Edit: Hmmmm. By pushing the power button and whatnot I got the desktop to reappear for brief seconds before sleep, then backspace seemed to do some sort of trick and help it work. It would switch to the console or something, and inform me that I had just covered the proximity sensor, or opened the keyboard, or whatever. But it seems to be working. It's pretty cool. |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
just press ctrl button on ur key board and every thing will be fine.
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Yeah, I'm having the same problem installing apps. Not enough space, it says.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
I managed to install some beta version of Swype(look in this article for a download link): http://www.techhail.com/mobiles/down...oid-phone/3852
The installation succeeded but Swype don't work with 800x480 phones :p At least the settings turned up in the Android control panel, so I guess it's working. How much available memory do you have? I have 5.73GB available. I don't know how much memory you need available to install apps, but those of you that gets a installation failure might have too little memory left. |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
I have 1gb sd card only and i read that it is enough for android, but how to partition it? How much space i need to spare for each partion to make it work?
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
make the smallest partition as the fat one (about 100mbis fine) rest make ext3)
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Not getting much love. Had a few 5 hour boots. Now it seems to be booting in 30 secs but I only get the lock screen, where if I swipe to unlock it shuts down or I just see the backround and turns off.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
sounds like no r&d maybe, or try presing ctrl/sym you may very well get back in

Maybe you can try to get it working without R&D mode? That would be great. (right now I'm switching between enabling R&D when I want to try Android more, and turning it off). Oh, and maybe you should start a support thread so that this development thread wont be this cluttered. |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
i have found a script that supposed to be related to the watchdogs but not sure how to integrate it yet

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
any tips for ppl who are having problem in installing apps. I am getting not enough space error here. if it is a permission problem can some one tell me how to check for the right permissions?
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
check the perms on /system/app are 777

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
I have been testing this since yesterday night and the scrolling on web pages is sooo smooth its really a joy to browse using the Android browser.
Also do people know that you can switch of the phone while in android by holding the on/off button for approx 2 secs and then selecting phone off? It takes a bit of time but does swtich off. I have the rootfs with the two app stores installed (andappstore client & SAM) but both of these give the not enough memory error. I have 5.86GB free on the eMMC but Android recognises this as SD card, and 3.35GB available space on micro SD card but Andrpid recognises this as internal phone storage. To the person who managed to install apps how much free space did you have on these two and also what steps did you take to get the installation to work? |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Steve any advances on the phone function, whats actually stopping it from working?
Thanks for all your work |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
i must admit i did not try the apps but lets see if we ccan solve perms. someone try findin perms for /system/app and /data and all its subfolders please

@dj_steve: I'll check the perms out. |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
ignore the 'sdcard' mem its not issue here
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
@dj_steve:
Permissions for /system/app is: rwxr-xr-x (AKA all permissions) Permissions for /data is: rwxr-xr-x (AKA all permissions) And I can install apps. Someone who cant should probably check their permissions. I managed to install a thing by downloading a .apk file in the internal browser and just click it. EDIT: The touch screen driver seems a little buggy, when you reach the outer areas of the screen the calibration seems off, but in the middle it's ok. Check it out yourself, open Dev tools and select Pointer Location. |

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
I have an issue with wifi: have 2 previously accessed networks. But currently I'm in the range of another one, that is not saved, and always that I go to the wifi config to connect to the new one, Android reboots (in fact the "Android" appears, and after some seconds the homescreen appear again, is not a complete reboot).
