Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

okay, thanks it is now working.

But i had to use

Code:

apt-get install tslib
instead of libst.

And it seems this package is available in the SDK repository.
I already had it configured, but when i made a search in the garage, i found out it is in SDK.

Once again, thanks a lot for your help.

On my n900 I don't have tslib installed, but libts-0.0-0 that is in the "Maemo 5 device SSU repository"
http://maemo.org/packages/view/libts-0.0-0/

Thanks for your tests, I'll add a dependency to this lib.

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

yes, with the apt-get i used, i got a message that it will install libts0-0.0 instead. but it is the only command that worked for me before i saw your edit :)

sakya 2012-05-16 15:18

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

Ok, I uploaded a bugfix package to add the dependency to libts.
I also fixed the issue with Gran Turismo 2 (keys not working when vibration is activate).
Also Wipeout 3 is now playable using the keys when vibration is on (was working only with the accelerometer).

EDIT: For guncon controller to work the user must have read/write permission on the file /dev/input/event3
I added to the gui the change permission command
Code:

sudo chmod 666 /dev/input/event3
before executing pcsxrearmed.
It works for me (but I'm not sure it will work on system without rootsh)

Sakya - thanks a lot for this update. Rollcage problem is also solved with this version.

Final Fantasy 8 vibration still does not work.

Can you add 3 more on screen buttons (to be used for Select Start and Quit)?

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

Thank you for the new release Sakya. It works pretty well with both Point Blank and Time Crisis. Only one tiny detail in case someone is having trouble: Set the games to work full screen on pcsxrearmed, otherwise the aim will be a bit off. Other than that it's great and I must say Point Blank is amazing to have as a portable game.

Again, thank you!!;)

Sakya is it possible in a future to have one analog control on the downleft corner of the screen?
By the way this is a cool feature using touch screen, you did a really wonderful job thanks alot sakya :)

Vibration disconnect the controller on TOMB RAIDER 1.
Also quick load on CRASH BANDICOOT games is not working properly.

I was able to set config file and config key but when pressing start to launch a game this appears "Error opening keys config file /opt/psx4m/keys

i checked the mentioned directiory and psx4m does not contain a keys config file. just a .png file with NO DATA illustrated.

help?

Configure the rom (or the default config) and set the keys config to use.

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

Sakya,

some issues i found:

1. When playing Resident evil survivor with accelerometer + analog control and setting the dead zone even to 0, still has a big dead zone (you need to do very large movement with the device to make it start moving).

i noticed it also in another game (it seems to work fine with racing games however).

Can this be fixed?

2. GunCon game 'Gunfighter - The Legend of Jesse James' does not work with guncon (starts with blank screen).

3. when using the gles GPU with screen buttons enabled, they do not work.

4. loading a saved state is not possible from GUI menu when a game is configured for the gles GPU - you must start the game and press the load button afterwards (not a big deal however).

5. GunCon with lethal enforcers 1 & 2 does not work. [EDIT] My Mistake - this seems to only support the Justifier/Hyperblaster

Thanks for your hard work - latest updates are amazing!.

Lethal Enforcers 1 & 2 are not compatible with the GunCon, they use the Konami Justifier:

yes - found that also :)

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

I managed to make 'Gunfighter - The Legend of Jesse James' work - it seems that the image i had (.mdf) did not work but after converting it to .pbp it works fine.

Sakya - can you enable accelerometer to work with the guncon games and allow to map it to the A/B buttons?

I think it will be great to play all these games - time crisis, gunfighter etc. without the keyboard/gripper at all - only with device tilt and screen presses.

Some early titles didn't like setting Analog mode on the controller, they would disconnect, light on controller stayed on, it just did nothing. As Dual Shock came out later it was only a feature on the Analog controller. Maybe the system for enabling vibration therefore triggers a change the old games don't like.

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

At last I manage to run tomb raider 2. I use an mdf version (any convertion of this image to img, pbp, bin, iso stucks the game at loading). Dont know why other images dont work but at least this one works perfectly.

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

sakya, I asked bonapart a long time ago, but he couldn't do it 'cause he doesn't have a Dualshock 3 controller, but do you think you can write native Dualshock 3 controller support for psx4m/pcsx-rearmed, just like Mupen64Plus?
Sure, it works as-is with the controller mapped to the N900's keyboard keys, but to have useable analog sticks will greatly enhance my gaming experience.

Honestly, it's all there's left to add to the emulator. It runs all games I've tried fullspeed with absolutely no sound hiccups flawlessly, which really is quite impressive considering the fact that the much more powerful Galaxy SII isn't even capable of such smooth PS1 emulation.

Sincerely,
ffha.

I don't have a dualshock controller 3 too. :)

I can try to "steal" some code from Mupen64 and see if it can be integrated in pcsxrearmed but now I'm busy with another project (for the coding competition).
I'll have a look at this in the future.

Is there a simple way of importing either DexDrive or PS3 Virtual Memory Card save games?

For DexDrive you can use (under Windows) MemcardRex:

For the PS3 Memory Card...I don't know. :)

It works with PS3 Virtual Card Saves but not Dex. Luckily I have access to both saves

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

I have one small request. ( I hope its small :) )
The emulator does not have the function to use second controller as some other emulators do (like picodrive).
This will help us to play with two Dual Schock 3 at the same time like the original console do.

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

Thanks a lot for the updates! I'll be testing it soon once I sort out my N900 and reinstall everything from a fresh flash.

The next game I'm planning to test (eboot again) is metal gear solid. apparently the game has a level where you need to use the 2nd controller?

And about Dual Shock support, I can confirm that this also works with cheap usb joysticks, they work well with Mupen64

Yes, Psycho Mantis... :)

At the moment there's no way to change the controller port.

it doesn't startup :( I can see the disclaimer screen and then just freezes. Sometimes is show only half screen with the disclaimer text in big caracterers. Weird... Could you tell me your configs ?
Thanks Sakya !

pcsxrearmed, neon_gpu, bios enabled (scph1001), frameskip disabled, fullscreen, disable XA, disable CD audio.

To play with sound disabled you need also to enable the SPU IRQ always enabled option.
With sound enabled you don't need it

Btw I don't see any disclaimer screen, just the konami logo and then the start/load menu.

This might be kind of a newbie question, but what does it mean when psx4m-gui is in conflict with maemo 5 and alot of libqt's and libts-opengl and a bunch of other stuff like that?

Yes, im very new to these kind of things, im trying to make this work for my son :)

@Badee3,

I think it is because you don't have rootsh or sudser installed, try to install at least rootsh and check if it solve your problem.

@Bane

Can you describe a bit more your issue?
How do you try to load the app, when do you get those merror messages?
Is it possible for you to copy/paste the message here?
