Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

i have tested it now with the "always online" option. no problem, receive every message without reconnection. so i think there is a problem with the "automatic online" setting.
isn't it possible to implement a little script, which reconnects mitakuuluu every 30-60 minutes?

it has a constant connection with the server and scans for online status of your friends?

Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Hi and thank you for a great app, coderus!

I have had issues with mitäkuuluu for about a week and I couldn't find a solution in this thread so I thought I'd try my luck by asking. This is really not my area of expertise so I apologize in advance if I ask stupid questions. I'm trying my best :)

My problem is that I can't send messages at all. Also, I only receive messages when I either disconnect and reconnect or restart the app entirely. Also it seems that maybe some messages that were sent to me were never received. I've tried deleting my account and reregistering and removing mitäkuuluu and reinstalling but the problem persists. I've also tried to play around with the settings (changing the server etc.) but no help there either. My status is 'always online'.

Any ideas what I should do? Thanks in advance!

Edit: I installed the Sailfish update 1.0.05.16 but no effect on the issue with mitäkuuluu.

Does this happen with which connection, wlan or mobile? Or with both? I also had trouble with situation where the phone was changing between them, but once I started to use only mobile data problems went away.

If thats not your case hopefully someone can help

The messages are not sent regardless if I'm using wlan or 3G. The second green dot signaling delivery never appears. The 'last seen' dates of the contacts in the discussions are also really old and they're not updated even though I know that the contact has been/is online.

Thanks for trying to help, Boxeri!

Did you remove all the whatsapp -folders when removing and reinstalling mitäkuuluu? There is hidden .whatsapp folder in /home/nemo/ and you should try removing it too and then try again. Maybe you have corrupted message database or something like that.

Hmm. I tried 'Delete everything', deleted the app and removed the .whatsapp folder in /home/nemo/, reinstalled and registered but now I can't seem to sync any contacts. I can still see the groups that I belong to but I'm not able to add contacts one by one or sync the entire phonebook. Did I mess something up?

And when I try to send a message with my other phone, it only arrives after I disconnect and reconnect. And when I try to reply my message isn't delivered. So I guess the original problem wasn't fixed :/

Got my jolla back to service!

Great updates coderus, just one question.... I can't find how to send emoji? Is it still not available?

You must install The Emoji Keyboard by Penguin from Openrepos.

Mitakuuluu does support Emoji, but you are most likely missing this Keyboard by Penguin. After that you can sent Emojis

That is definately weird situation. I'm sorry I have no other suggestions at this point than resetting the device.

I hope some other in here can help you out.

Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Probably a permission problem. Try to add '/usr/bin/harbour-mitakuuluu,p' to /usr/share/mapplauncherd/privileges.

coderus 2014-04-12 11:54

Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@annaelina do you have contacts from your phonebook when clicking "Add contacts"?

annaelina 2014-04-12 12:35

Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@coderus: Yep, I can browse through my address book when I select 'Add contacts'. Somehow most contacts are displayed multiple times, first only as numbers, then with the name and then some even for a third time in a consequent list. When I select 'Sync all phonebook', it just goes back to my conversation list and nothing happens. Same if I try to add contacts one by one. It seems like a contact is added to the list if I receive a message from them. Like my work phone number from which I received a message, is now in the list along with the groups.

@tiempjuuh: I'm not quite sure how to do that but I'll see if I can figure it out :) However that's only related to not being able to add contacts, right? Or could it have something to do with not being able to send (and receive) messages too? Thanks!

Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Selecting "Load media files to Gallery", downloads them into '/Whatsapp' folder instead of '/Pictures/Whatsapp/'. Also, that setting is not saved upon exiting. If I de-select it and close the app, it's selected again when I open it again. v 0.2-10.

coderus 2014-04-12 15:11

Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@annaelina all contacts presented as numbers, you can choose only some numbers to sync. you can easily check your Phonebook and notice same content :)

but. i cant help you until you didnt send me application logfile.

Back at the Meamo forums!

Finally installed Sailfish on my Nexus 4 as I wanted working voice calls and other things.

After the install I installed Mitakuuluu right away and it's working like a charm! Keep it up :)

while waiting for the update, i found that rolling back to version 2.5 makes MK usable again, without needing to reset anything

Ok, so I restored the device to factory settings, restored my contacts, installed the latest OS updates, installed Mitakuuluu and I STILL have the same problems as before: not able to send messages, only able to receive messages when dis- and reconnecting and not able to add contacts. Now I'm seriously clueless. Help, anyone?

And @coderus, I sent you my logfile by email but I don't know if you found out anything from it.

@Schturman no idea. answer it yourself. I never have problems like messages undelivering and so and can't say if it gone.
@Morpog why?

Fresh start, no litter leftover from old version. Easier for newcomers.

@Morpog why?

looks like uninstallation of first mitakuuluu is enough...
thanks.

coderus 2014-04-20 10:26

Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

I dont really want to make many threads. It's low activity forum thread anyway, will see.

@Schturman you dont need to uninstall old mitakuuluu. If you become unhappy with new version you can switch back to old. You just cant use it both because of whatsapp registration.

What about Mitakuuluu? How many new features you discovered?

ZioBilly 2014-04-20 11:39

Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Is it possible to import the chat database in the new version?

It looks good, as always, however I think it would be easier if the settings were in the pulley menu in both pages

coderus 2014-04-20 13:05

Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

it should automatically import old mitakuuluu database at first startup. importing contacts and text messages only.

coderus 2014-04-20 14:13

Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Well, if no critical bugs detected until today, New version will be pushed to openrepos tonight.

And v0.5-2 with images resizing bugfix released: https://github.com/CODeRUS/mitakuulu...ases/tag/0.5-2

But why it's asking for registration again? :)
BTW am I right that it won't be named Mitakuuluu2 for ever? :D

coderus 2014-04-20 14:19

Re: [v0.2-10] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@willi6868 1. because you can't use same account in many applications at the same time. If you start mitakuuluu1 and mitakuuluu2 at the same time with same account you will be banned in whatsapp servers :)
2. of course. it just while not published in openrepos.

Also at the moment there is no more mitakuuluu folder in gallery and if i enable Autostart in the settings it won't remain enabled, tested with v0.5-2

@ZioBilly you sure didnt removed old mitakuuluu before? /home/nemo/.whatsapp/whatsapp.db exists?
gallery folder removed from project. too many integration work needed to work correctly.
Fill bug about autostart please to new github mitakuuluu2 page, will check it asap.
