@Tone aka Creativetone aka Luovatone aka Handy Manny ;)
What engeneering skills you have Tone, just think it's awesome :D Will at some point try to replicate the stylus you have done, maybe you should set a production line up one day and spit out styluses for the masses :D keep it up Tone :) |

and there is also 124 new and old ... all "optimized" for MyPaint and N900.. Brushes and Pressure Sensitivity is "HIGHLY IMPROVED!" there is also "NEW Watercolor Moist pencils .. water pencils... splashes... etc..." .. and of course "2 Conté pencils". But lot more... @outdoors - :D I am waiting your "crappy" sketches.. much. @Dousan - :) It is all about experimenting, trials and errors, and learning and trying.. I am really wondering why there is only very few manufactures who make proper styluses... I am really think that there is lot more possibilities with "styluses" and if we take "MyPaint" Brush Engine.. and combine those.. it will change whole digital drawing and painting experience.. against Wacom and their current Styluses which do not offer so much differences about pen nibs and feel of painting.. :) Tone aka Creativetone aka Luovatone |
Re: Look what I drew on my phone

Re: Look what I drew on my phone
@Creativetone
I can't seem to get used to your pressure settings. It's probably because I haven't got a screen protector and constantly worry about gouging out a chunk o screen lol. Really like the new brushes though, Here's something I scribbled earlier... http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/7673/randoml.jpg |
Re: Look what I drew on my phone
Thanks, Tone! Though I have to admit that I totally lost... "it"... thanks to neglecting the non-3D, non-digital part of visual art for far too long. ;)
Still lots of fun - and I LOVE the new settings. And it's astonishing how true to life the brushes are. The colour pencils where just exactly like real life ones: by applying them I managed to totally screw up my formerly okay lineart... :D http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4056/...cf5f36aa9b.jpg |

settings... if somebody need it also. BUT when using "old" pressure mapping .. there is missing lot of dynamic. "I am sorry that" I could not get it any better... and now it needs a quite bit more pressure to screen in some tools.. that we get dynamic good pressure scale. Myself I am very happy with these "NEW" settings and of course my "own" Tone's Brush Set V2 :D These things are very personal and I do not know if Pressure vary device for device.. I must buy second N900 and test this.. I think that there is at least small amount of differences device to device.. I hope that someone clever makes MyPaint a calibration utility so everybody could calibrate screens pressure levels to compensate unevenness of screen pressure levels. btw. :) Very very great "scribble".. I like very very much.. I want to see final piece. @Nathraiben - Wow.. nice drawing.. keep going. I am glad that you are happy to my work of. :) I want also hear other peoples comments about my settings and Brush Set V2... please! bad or good, anything :) There is now magic numbers of Global Pressure Mappings. OLD = less dynamic but less pressure: Code:
global_pressure_mapping = [(0.0, 1.0), (0.0, 0.0), (0.070652173913043473, 0.0), (0.11956521739130435, 0.95833333333333337), (1.0, 1.0)] Code:

Im also curious about how long it would take to take a pic with the camera and then open that image in mypaint to draw on top of it. Assuming you can import an jpg. Would be great for trying some things out on a pic of a real oil painting before actually laying the paint. @tone On the subject of styluses. How about using a stomp for smudging and such. Maybe its to soft but maybe worth trying out. http://www.chinesemol.com/member/upl...7162311855.jpg |

btw! 20min at saving time is not correct and wrong at least my N900 and MyPaint saves big painting quite fast.. It is true that it may take while when saving big files.. but example when I save "5megapixel N900 photo" which I am edited with MyPaint it takes only max. half minute. It depends a lot how many layers u have.. and memory of N900. |

Thanks for the old settings, I'll keep playing around with them ... :) I have to agree with EmmaGx, one of my 3000px 3 layer drawings took over 30min to save! I suspect it may have to do with them being pencil drawings, because maybe there's a lot more feathery "strokes" and hence complexity? Not sure, but just wanted to let you know :) |
Re: Look what I drew on my phone
How do you save your painting as .png/jpeg with the Fremantle/Maemo UI...? Is it even possible or can it be added? Anyone?
