You atleast have too wait three more month before cry. The device will not be released before christmas anyway. Why the is it so important now exact specs? If you want the latest and greatest go get some Samsung device. A startup company will not have latest and greatest blablabla XXX cool kids specs. Use you brain instead to think what is realistic: Expect some Dual Core from mid 2012 or something similar. and hopefully BT4.0 and NFC and a decent 8mpix camera. Everything else is a bonus. |

I agree there IS some specs that they could release now without problem NFC(probadly yes) and if BT4.0 that would not hurt. But My guess is your spec hysteria(and others) is anout exact what SoC and GPU? And that is not something they just can share for already said reason. But giving exact specs so what? No one would win on that anyway because users is always has ridicilous big expectations. And this has been discussed before releasing specs before they have started MANUFACTORING would KILL the company, simply because there are bigger evil players like samsung and maybe also small players like canonical that would make sure there where no components to buy for Jolla. I would def be more pissed of that. Than if some specs is not exact what I expected. This is the facts small players cannot go out buy go 1 million SoC:s in one tinnot go out buy go 1 million SoC:s in one time. me. Big players who has cash get em first. But I guess people will ignore this simple facts over and over again and continue complain even after they release the specs :( |
Probably the main(real) reason is that the exact specs aren't definite. Just like the design, specs can be changable.

Re: Will you buy the Jolla phone?
Most of people who wants to know more info on specs just want to know what cpu, gpu and ram the device will use. I'm sure about this. I know all you people want to see a powerful device with the os that you're interested besides android and ios. Believe me, as an ex symbian user I wanted to see that on symbian devices since 2009. but who gave a **** about the cpu and gpu when they bought the n9?
I didn't. I know most of you didn't. so sometimes specs doesn't sell right? They don't give any info about the exact specs so, All roads lead to the fact that they don't have an exact spec sheet at the moment. maybe no chip partners yet? I also doubt that the first other half devices had dual core chipsets on them. They even might have used some n950's to build them! my point is if you really appreciate the work they are doing at least make the 0 euro preorder to show your interest. the problem here is that they need to get things done very very fast and find good partners because 2014 might be late to show something that's unique for the end user. copycats everywhere! (ios7 etc.) |
Re: Will you buy the Jolla phone?
IMO there's not much point in Jolla releasing specs right now. Would I like them to release specs? Sure. Do I understand why they aren't releasing specs? Yes.
Imagine they released specs tomorrow. Quad Core 2GHz CPU. 2GB RAM. Wow right? Not really - by the time the device is available to the pre order customers (nevermind the general public), those specs would be painfully outdated and the folks at Samsung would probably be selling a 16 core with 64GB RAM (random specs pulled out of my rear) as their flagship. Be patient, and understand that you aren't the only person who would love to know finalized specs and that Jolla knows this very well. |
