Re: [Announce] Yappari - New maintainership and new features!

Hello,

my curent version of yappari is 1.1.51. I've read here, that whatsapp changed the protocol and that the programm have to be updated to version 2.0.2.
In the update-manager of my N900 are no updates available. How do i get the current version 2.0.2? Which source do I need for this update?

The following sources are aktive:
- Nokia Anwendungen (https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/apps/
- Nokia Systemsoftwareaktualisierungen (https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/mr0
- Ovi (https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle1.2/ovi/)
- maemo.org (http://repository.maemo.org/extras/)
- Community SSU (http://repository.maemo.org/community/)

Thank you very much for the support and answers. :-)
Roland

Hi, Roland

Latest 2.0.2 version is already on the repositories, but it's only available at extras-testing (you would need to add another source that is exactly the same as the one called 'extras' you already have but replacing it with 'extras-testing').

If you don't want to do that, you can either wait for 2.0.2 version to be voted and thus promoted to extras, or you can go to the first post of this thread and search there for the download links, just below 'LATEST VERSION' header.

Regards!

Re: [Announce] Yappari - New maintainership and new features!

As yappari-code is being adjusted in several ways these days, to our benefit, I would like to whisper a suggestion concerning an old desire of mine:

How about adding a feature called "Export (part of) this chat to a textfile" ?

This feature existed in a whatsapp-client that was used on the N97-mini (and maybe other phones that I am not aware of) and was very useful.

The database-queries needed for this should be quite plain and simple, and probably already exist in a certain way, as they are needed to bring chats to screen.

Suppose it would be done, then just timestamps and text would be exported, while multimedia could be replaced with filenames and emoji's with code-numbers or whatever is used or useful.

I would love such a feature added to yappari's functionality. Anyone else with the same feeling?

Hi!

I've added that to the list of pending issues. That's a nice feature and it's something that will be done sooner or later.

Thank you for the suggestion!

@ceene the ghost + contact was fixed in the version 1.1.43 as you can see here.

I'm trying to see how to reproduce it to send you the log the shortets posible but no luck.

It just appears with some time after delete it, but can't be sure how many minutes takes to appears again.

Greetings.

In the meantime, I normally do this via sqlite. Works just fine. Not to say it shouldn't be added :)

hi to all!
what do you think about two new yappari's "fixing":
1)when send a message without connection and have a gray tick, I would have the possibility to resend the mex with a simple command (or that yappari do it itself);
2)when you close yappari's window, and have other open chat, if you click on yappari's icon, it will open the chat window and not the yappari one! it forces me to have always the yappari window open if I want to have the possibility to open a new chat or simply read the status of my concacts.

Just click Yappari icon on status menu. That will bring up main Yappari window

Would you share your db-queries with us? :)
