She thought it was, but doesn't know? I don't know why she can't run a query in her system to see if orders were shipping out.

Dubious.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR THOSE WHO PREORDERD THROUGH MPD

For those who have bought a contract/N900

You do realize that your phone will not dispatch on the day they get it, right?

They have to do a credit check and crucially that credit check will not take place until the phone is in stock.

And each credit check can take 1-5 days.

I was informed of this today, therefore I canceled and preorderd with nokia (not nokia retail)

if the us orders are delayed because of the bluetooth headset then why is uk orders are delayed?
1- we don't get no bluetooth headset
and
2- we pay more for the phone :(

i still believe phone will arrive this week (i hope)

Ahhh!!!

I wouldn't worry too much about this. That message isn't saying "we don't expect to ship until after Dec 25" as much as it is saying "We don't have the ability to assure delivery in time for Christmas" -- possibly just because they don't actually have it in their hands yet. It's likely just a boolean flag in their database for all products -- "can deliver by xmas Y/N" and they historically don't flip that flag to Y unless they have product in stock and really are sure they can get it out in time.

But I also was told that the overnight shipping I originally ordered was no longer available so I would be given 1 to 3 day shipping for $1 and that the $19.99 extended warranty I had ordered would be $49.99 if I still wanted it. She assured me that I would maintain my place in the preorder queue even though I was issued a new order number. i disagree.. you can now order a phone on contract and receive the phone next day so the credit check is done instantly. System just checks if you have sufficient funds in your bank and if your name and address matches your details on your card.
(plus you cannot order 2 phones from same website on contract) lol

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

Maemojedi you are totally wrong, one of the first things i asked MPD was about the credit check. After i placed an order they told me this:

"The credit check has now been passed, all we are awaiting is the stock now so we can connect the account and dispatch it to you.
"

Dutch phone chain store "BelCompany", well known for getting most phones as first in the netherlands, is expecting the phone this week (a good friend of mine works there). Good sign for dutch people I guess, but I was told the stock will be limited though. When they get it I will run to the store to get mine [:

I believe you have two options. Wait until they call you or call them.

Representatives from Nokia, Amazon & Santa him self will be stopping by my house today to take turns kicking me in the back of the head. I expect they will laugh and laugh and I'll make cookies! Cant wait!

On a positive note I did ask Amazon about my pre-order and the change in price:

"Since this item hasn't shipped yet, I adjusted the price to reflect the current discounted price, $559.99 . This is the price you'll be charged for this item when the order ships."

So the longer all this crud takes, the more the price will drop. I am really trying to grab on to a positive here. really...<kick> OWW!

She said the problems with the BH-703 is that when connected only the bluetooth headset would ring and that the headset would not work with some VOIP calls.

Email to MPD that I sent...

Hi,

Regarding the Nokia N900. When you say late November delivery, do you mean the last week of November? If you could clarify it would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Hey you might have something there. We show up with bricks and baseball bats, and rob them of their N900s. Kinda whip some Ghetto Justice on them! A couple of Meet-up/Beat-Ups and maybe they'll get the message!

I wish the channels partners I dealt with had your expectations ;)

We shipped new products from China (Funai) and Taiwan and had product on shelves for our partners within one week with products considerably bigger than a little itty bitty phone size device.

The only time EVER we shipped a new model (first order batch) by boat is if it were simply a refresh of a current product.

Mind you, the lack of real updates suggest Nokia did perhaps ship by boat. Got to love it!

I called and talked to them too, and that is exactly what they told me about the BT headset too. Those sound like (fixable) software issues to me... but I guess it was enough that they decided not to keep the bundle.

Anyway... all around same exact deal as Bruce -- 15% off the phone, nokiacare bumped up to $49.99, and overnight shipping switched to 1-3 day for $1.

Edit: Thus pre-tax before was $683.98 and pre-tax after is $602.64

Of course then she tried to run my card and it was declined... but my bank says there is no issue... so now I'm going back and forth between them. GAR.

I really don't understand why so many people preordered somewhere else than the official nokia eshops? Its so obvious that it will be FIRST available at the manufacturers store isn't it? I don't care about 50€ discount when I would get it somewhen in december.

Why don't you people cancell your preorder and go to an official nokia store... ?

I can not check the status of my modified order. The URL I used with the old order number does not accept the new order number. The URL in the new order email asks for a username and password that I do not have.

I am paying with a BofA card. They authorized $1.

I'm having the same issue with them. They let me try 3 cards that were all declined (even though all 3 banks said they were approved no problems) and then they informed me their system locked me out. I have to wait 3-5 business days to try again, which will be Friday. I'm so frustrated with them right now. Has anyone gotten NokiaUSA to place a 2nd order and actually gotten their credit cards approved?

Mine does too and I preordered on 11.11. It's a rubbish date.

NokiaUSA rep said they're trying to ship out all preorders ordered from April to Now and hope to do so by the end of this Month. He said they started shipping Nov 11, but I just have a hard time believing that.

I'm using a BofA card, and I even see the $1... but even after they tried again it still isn't working! (for the full amount, I guess). Gar the frustration. I have no secondary card for them to try, unfortunately. At some point very soon I'll be effectively forced to put in an order with Newegg or Amazon, I'm afraid. And then perhaps I'll have to wait even longer. Rant rant rant.
