How do I get Tekken 3 running at good framerate?
 

How do I get tekken 3 working on my nokia n900 at a good framerate

using psx4all


I've overclocked etc

and it doesnt make that much difference

I'd rather keep it at 600mhz

I know smoku had his tekken 3 working on his n900 at 600mhz

I was just wondering how he did it, so I and others could do the same

Wow a misleading title, I read it as an answer and not a question.

Hope you get your answer because the OpenPandora uses the same emulator and was stated to reach fullspeed + sound once optimized (currently only half) for demanding titles like Tekken 3.

But the big thing is to wait for hardware acceleration OR diy. That should solve the performance issue.

Btw, do follow the progress of this on OpenPandora aswell, since they're identical devices. Once 3DHW is achieved on that, it wont take long for it to come to the N900.

Yes, the thread was a bit misleading. The other threads on psx emulation has some suggestions on settings for better performance.

Maybe you'd want to search and read the damn forum before making this misleading thread? I wish mods did their jobs and deleted/closed useless threads like these.

You'd have guessed, I did that on purpose
So everyone could throw in their opinion on how they believe they can get this working

(As made obvious by the fact so many people are in the thread, everyone wants the psx emulator to run at full speed)

What kills me is that he clearly knows how to use punctuation as his crap-tastic thread title has both "!" and ":)" in it.

The fact that he's asking a question but in the title clearly issues an exclamation followed by a smiley face is just stupefying....

Speaking of stupefying, anyone who's going to honestly use this crap-tastic tread to ask how to run PS1 games at full frame rate using the software only PS1 emulation applications currently available on the N900 are idiots.

Want an update on PS1 emulation that's closer to what is on the Pandora? Use the %*$*#$ Search Bar!!!

To be honest, I assumed your thread title was a mistake or poor English and I had certain sympathy with you because of the rough replies you are getting.

But if you created that misleading title on purpose.. well you deserve everything you get. All you've done is waste people's time.

There's already a thread for discussing the emulator, you'd have been much better asking your question there.

To get tekken 3 running @ full speed you need to take your N900 everyday to the gym. Right now it's too weak.

make sure its a supported cd-image-format.

im not sure, but i think it should be a .ISO compatible format... perhaps its enough to just rename the image to FF7CD1OF4.ISO

try another PSX game in ISO format

Not the N900 is too weak, it's the emulation level that unfortunatly is so (For now)

What the emu needs is Hardware acceleration. (Open GL ES support)

The N900 as hardware is powerful enough. Just give it time.:)

I'm afraid overclocking is pretty much your only option. Unless your proficient in OpenGL ES coding.. then you can modify the source to use the graphical processor in the N900 and (theoretically) it'll run full speed then :P

Now that i've actually read through the thread and seen how it grew to 31 mostly useless posts in such a short time, i will add to my above request by saying i'm likely to just delete extra threads created about existing emulators in the future.

I wish people didn't contribute to unpaid moderator workload by shooting off their mouths and posting useless replies.

FYI some infractions are going out to people in this thread. Don't be vulgar and don't attack others.

Being unpayed is no excuse, you've been made a moderator and you should.. well, moderate.

I think he posted in regard to the lame 31 post thread about tekken, I don't think he was goinf on about the psx4all thread ;)

I do love to see this threa pop up in the active topics though, waiting for Smoku to finish psx4all is like waiting for xmas... hell I would go so far as to say it was as exciting as the wait for Pr1.2 :x

I have a huge list of ps1 games I am just gagging to try out when this is released! ;)

You have obviously mistaken policy with inactivity so i'm not going to fault you. I recommend looking at the terms of use and reading and/or posting (in the community forum, where they belong) about moderation in t.m.o. if you disagree with the existing norms. The modus of the forum operator (Reggie) is minimal interference, and my involvement in the game subforum in general and this thread specifically is almost always going far beyond that level. AFAIK i'm the only moderator in Games besides the supermods and i have other things to do besides constantly monitor threads.

In other words, rather than throw out off-topic criticism in a random thread about a game, take your observations and see how they fit with the forum SOP and take complaints to the right venue if they don't.
