No, it's the clock that came along with package statusbarclock. It's sizable! You could make it take up the whole desktop if you really like time

o_O lol
we haven't had reasonable usable easy printing on device before ever.

i will be creating and sending a 800*960 png of the image + full resolution sketch
(the preview there is half res for speed on 810)

the simple answer is - no, im not going to do it
i have enough to do and someone else can deal if its wanted :p

Sending the image and sketch? By colour fax? That would be sweet.

going to be uploading both to liqbase.net is the idea so far.
when on the web, the only reasonable way to show vectors is svg and its slow and not universal.
i know png isnt either, but its better and faster.

i might also simply make the recipients list in this version be a tweet and use a url shortners to point at a liqbase.net item.

ive got the code now, its getting much easier for me.
i can see many of my original goals coming together really well.

So, I still have lots of work to do, but I can post these proof-of-concept screenshots. Enjoy!

I really hope someone ports OpenOffice to Maemo and gives it a nice Maemo UI, but that's a pretty big task. So until that happens...

OpenOffice Writer running under Fremantle, using Fremantle GTK theme (but still needing some serious UI tweaking -- those scroll bars are microscopic):

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2469/...838f9bb7_o.png

Note the load applet; one bar for processor load. OpenOffice doesn't really stress out the processor much.

OpenOffice in the dashboard; multitasking FTW:

Re: Show off your screenshots

office apps have never been much in the way of cpu stressers when just sitting there doing nothing. but i guess the cpu will spike ones you start typing and the spellchecker kicks in, or you try to modify the layout of the page in some way.

and thats why microsoft and intel freaks, as they cant come up with a combo of office app improvements and cpu improvements that will keep the numbers flowing their way.

These are not my screenshots, but they're so cool I thought they deserved a post. They are from maemo.org bug 4178

And shows the new virtual keyboard examples as well as some interesting usages:

Last time I went to Ikea, my kids went nuts for the touchscreen computers running tuxpaint that they had out on the shopfloor. The kids love tuxpaint on my N800, but I havn't been able to find an installable package since getting my N810...

Nice! Are the icons used by freemantle available anywhere Andrew?

I mean like the ones found in /usr/share/icons/hicolor in Diablo?

andrewfblack 2009-09-29 11:50

Re: Show off your screenshots

icons are all closed sourced (I believe) so I wouldn't be able to release them in my package if I could even get a copy. If you get a n900 you should be able to just copy them over.

If I'm wrong about this someone please let me know and if there is a way to get the icons I will release them with the theme. Also I'm going to release a copy that doesn't have clear contact and web icons in case some people don't like it. I am trying to find someone who will write me two plugins similar to personal menu that has a clear icon and does nothing when clicked.

Is there a simple way to remove the shaded areas on the top and left side of the screen without having to compile anything?

I definitely prefer a clean desktop look like this screenshot has.

Code:

gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/hicolor/
I did not come up with that and I certainly have not written a script. :p

How can a change the icon for Maemo Screengrabber if it isn't defined?
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/923/32515501.png

Oh and I don't recommend typing kill hildon-desktop as root while in Xterm.

By the end of that mess I had 3 running desktops on my tablet.

Strange as it might seem, that wasn't cool. :D
