sometimes you have to close (via menu) whatsup and restart.

remind me why you need to access this in your pc, and why you require root in first place.
I haven't used my N9 for a while but if i am not wrong, isn't everything, the config files and database stored in the home (/home/user) somewhere? (better ask Cepi for the exact location)
you could easily use a file manager (like filecase) to access these files. and even if it is not in home, you can browse the root directory too from filecase itself.
btw, i had an old copy of /home/user/MyDocs/Whastup/.backup. I couldn't find the database there.

Or is it that you have already checked this and not found anything and want to attempt file recovery, which i think might not work as you have been using the phone for 3 months, you say. The database probably has been overwritten during this time.

Yes, this is the reason, I have also checked through a filemanager app on the phone awhile ago and from my recollectiom it was either not there anymore in the backup, or the filesize was relatively small and new which thought I knew I had lost it, thus why I desperately need to do a file recovery.

Also, I've downloaded WinSCP now, how do I get my phone the sync with it?? How do I get my IP address and Pass apparently?

obviously in SDK connection settings

Anybody else, having "trouble" with the "last-seen" option? The date and time of my contacts just jump around like crazy without reason or system.not a big deal, but I'm curious.

But how am I to get it into SDK???

Nokia Store doesn't work anymore since it apparently requires me to download/install something for me to access this mode! :(

Hi dear friend

At the first:
"Your N9 developer mode must be Enabled."
for example by this way that dear coderus said or this one.

You have 2 ways for connecting your phone:
1) by Wireless
2) by USB cable

1) You must connect to an "Access Point" by your N9 via wireless.
The Access Point could be your wireless modem that your PC is connected to it too; Or it could be The wireless card of your PC or laptop that you use it in Access Point mode.
You can find your phone IP in Settings -> about.

2) Connect your phone to PC by USB cable in SDK mode.
If I remember it true, your phone IP is 192.168.2.15.

And after that you can follow this post.

I wish you success :)

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client [UPDATED 15-10-2015]

I spent DAYS experimenting to get either Whatsup or Wazapp to work on my N9 (Meego Harmattan), now Whatsup seems to be working fine :D and I got rid of the other one.

Registration problems solved : enter the country code BUT where it asks for your phone number, remove the 0 at the front. It does not know to do this, and it doesn't give you any sign that anything is wrong or has even registered a button push. Maybe the message to the user should tell them to remove the leading 0..

But amazing effort for reverse engineered software! Have seen the Github page too..

IF you manage to screw up, and get blocked for using an unofficial client... Would something like AndyROID (Android device emulator) work to communicate with them, and get unblocked?

Just installed this thing, and i have no intention of using / managing groups, but anyway...

Oh, and thanks for the hardwork and effort put in to this thread, and the app.
B!

I'm having trouble with messages received from iphones. Some come and some do not. Have you noticed that?I had no problems with receiving messages of Windows phone and android.

I've noticed this too, but only with individual conversations. If the sender is part of a group, their messages come through fine.

@ViBE
You mean the missing expiration date? No, whtasapp decided not to charge for supscritions any more a few days ago

@Iphone issue: Same discussion is going on in the Whatsup - Jolla thread. It seems that the IPhone WA - Client stopped to resend the message in unencrypted form if the recipient does not support encryption Whatsapp in this case). Strange enough that this behaviour does "only" affects certain messages. No easy workaround for that issue afaik.

Hi,

Anyone else unable to login now with version 1.2.9?

I'm guessing it's the usual issue that the version number is "too old"

Gabriel

I have the same problem of access ... Just hope that our good friend Perez help us out of this anxiety ....:(

ViBE 2016-01-23 04:58

same here too. and i also discovered a long time ago that Whatsup cannot reconnect if i change the connection from 3G to wifi and vice versa. same happens when the phone disconnects for some reason. after 2-3 minutes Whatsup cannot reconnect and app restart needed.

Tried this morning, unable to connect :(
Hope the issue can be solved soon! I won't like having to go back to my Nokia E7 WA client (which, in turn, would enable encryption so no WhatsUp anymore).

I would like to know as to why the existing version gets shutdown when the new version's work is on progress.... Have always wondered how and why :confused::confused:

gabrielharrison 2016-01-23 11:32

It's the WhatsApp API that causes it. I Guess it's so they ensure all the official app users stay up to date

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client [UPDATED 15-10-2015]

If the error is mainly due to a version number check, and not other features, would it be possible to modify WhatsUp so that the version number is read from a text file the users can edit when the issue appears? E.g. Whatsup works fine, then when a new S40 WA version is released, just edit the file with new version and continue with use?
Thanks!
