I'll be happy to discus mine when it arrives. Should have it in about two weeks. But I thought you had one. Indeed, don't you have both Jolla phone and Galaxy Note 3 (I think) . How do they compare to you? Can you try my suggestion about testing floating apps? I'd really like to know how or if they work. Thanks!

Have and use is not the same thing. You can't compare them. I just figured out I need a 5,5 iphone or Ipad. My usecases are not the same as yeaterday . I'm using n9 as my dayly phone this week. its pretty much useless for anything except calling :D

The worst thing about n9, it's not good as a calling device only! I was thinking about using it for that purpose but the headspeaker is much too quiet and the microphone is way to crappy. Guess I will have to buy 808 after all.

I have heard about quiet speaker before, but calls in general still work very well for me. Are you sure you don't have a faulty device?

Mine private Jolla did just the same thing last evening. I had the browser open and suddenly screen went black and it died. I pressed the power button and it started again. When the phone was ready I opened the browser from where I was before and after about three seconds the screen went again black, led lighted up as red and it started reboot loop. I let it run in boot loop for few minutes and then something changed, it started up normally. When it was up again, I decided to shut it down and let the battery have some fresh air. After about two minutes I reassembled the phone and started it.

Has been working flawlessly since then. Did not seem to be too serious. Maybe I should have let it run when it finally exited the boot loop. Might have worked. Well, maybe next time.

I have two Jollas in more or less active use and this is the first time one has been acting up.

My N9 is covering me whilts i await the latest Jolla update. For some reason I get the connection error in my office and it renders the jolla useless. In the future the N9 will get relegated to being my in car sat nav as I have a proper brodit powered car mount for it. (plus it has traffic and offline maps).

Switching from the Jolla makes you realise just how laggy the N9 is now. I expect we shall see the latest Jolla update tomorrow or Friday and hope the key issues are cleared with that as I miss it.

Anyone knows how to manually tweak the dimming of an ambiance?

Personally I really hate it and don't like it. Only the lockscreen show my background as it should be, but since that screen is pretty useless as it is I never get to see my background bright in my Jolla.

I digged around but the best information about ambiances I found were:

http://www.jollausers.com/2013/12/ho...ailfish-bonus/

https://together.jolla.com/question/...wto-ambiences/

But neither of these talks anything about how to tone down the darkening of the picture ones you scroll down.

Anyone, or is it only me who is hating this feature? BTW I think that this even got more aggressive with the latest update

I completely agree. It was kinda annoying before, and now it's even worse.

I agree, I would've preferred my background picture/ambience to be seen everywhere I navigate, 'to make the phone my own'... Now it's just black everywhere except the lock screen and maybe events screen, which has a blurred picture instead.

... Kind of defeats the purpose of highly personalized ambiences IMO.
