Hi!!
I’m trying to do the nano thing for whastup cuz I sadly give up on wazapp, but when I open /home/user/.config/cepiperez/whatsup.conf I got the answer “permission denied”.
What should I do?
Thanks for all the help in this blog, it is by far better than other I have found.

you have 2 choices :

1. Use whatsup
2. Edit the db file of wazapp to add contacts

i am new to the website i have got nokia n9 and installed wazapp in it 0.9.22 version after installing while registration it says failed reason old server
i got wart and got codes and also the long password
can anyone please help me out wats the next step i need to do in detailed format

Hi!
Thanks for all your help but I don’t really know what a root is, I don’t know anything about mobile’s system or system at all. I just did what it is explained in this forum and nothing else. So could you explain to me how to stop using the root you are talking about please?

pls tell us what you have done so far exactly, because if you have opened the file without using root-rights, there should be no problem...

did you purged wazzap and installed whatsup?

I 'm going to explain,what I did to install whatsup.i recommend this,because wazapp stopped working for me and there are less bugs.

So first you get Whatsup.Then you install nano on your N9.
Go to Settings->Security->developer->Utilities.It should install everything on its own.
Then you Install Whatsup.Get the Code by Using WART.
write down both codes.
Then you start whatsup and type the (i think) first code.It should start and maybe connect.If not.
open terminal.
type "nano" without the "" and press enter.
than press ctrl-R -> press enter
type in " /home/user/.config/cepiperez/whatsup.conf " press enter
than a file should open.move up and down by using "ctrl-V,ctrl-Y,ctrl-P,ctrl-N.
move up until you come to
username=...
password=...
delete the old ones and type our mobile number as username (without +) -> username=4412345678
and the second code from WART (the long one) as password ->
password=87654321asdfgh
than exit nano by ctrl-X (the shortcuts are written in nano terminal as ^X for ctrl-X) and save.
look if it works.Maybe you need to save before you exit by ctrl-O but i don't know which name of file you should type.Maybe someone knows.

I hope i could help.If it doesn't work like this...somebody needs to try to explain again,or read the pages before carefully.

Isn't there any way to import persecute's account into wazapp/whatsup, as is the one that is working for me???

I restored cellphone's settings to the default values so I was sure there were no wazapp files, then I proceed to install whatsup again and go into /home/user/.config/cepiperez/whatsup.conf and I got the same message “permission denied”
What should I do now?

Hello, how did you solve connection problems? I have the error trying to connect (first yellow then red icon). Also when I open whatsup, phone contacts are not synchronized. I installed following the procedure whatsup nano + wart. Help me, thanks!

Hola!!!
Bueno te voy a explicar lo que yo he entendido y he hecho a ver si te funciona...

- Debes instalar whatsup
- Solicitas el código de activación por el wart y te llegará un mensaje al celular (https://github.com/shirioko/WART/blo...RT-1.6.8.0.exe)
- en el celular vas a Settings (herramientas)- Security(seguridad) - Developer Mode - Utilities y descargas Nano
- Luego de instalado te vas a esa aplicación que aparecerá en la pantalla de inicio llamada terminal. Cuando la abres parece matrix, fondo negro y letras verdes...
- Ahí escribes /home/user/.config/cepiperez/whatsup.conf
- Cambias la clave por la que te llego por mensaje de wart y le das Ctrl+O para guardar y Ctrol+X para cerrar

Ya con eso debería estar listo

I got whatsup back to work using wart and changing the config file, but I cannot get whatsup online/connected again... any idea what I am doing wrong?...

had the same failure. my fault was that i edited the .whatsup.conf wrong (password=the_6_digit_code_WART). After generating the second longer password with WART, i edited again so i could connect with whatsup

Maybe table name is 'login', and not 'account'? :)

2. get whatsup config file from someone
3. use WART for getting password
4. edit whatsup.conf with your phone and password
5. use whatsup :)

Sorry for all the bother, but now I’m a step closer
When I get into nano /home/user/.config/cepiperez/whatsup.conf and press enter it goes to the next line and nothing shows up

I have password i need conf file
I have a conf file in .conf/cepiperez but how shoud i edit it means what should i add in it

Hola! Si disculpa... después de que te mandé el msj me di cuenta de que habían unas cositas mal que aun no sabía para ese momento
los primeros 4 pasos quedan igual... después que entres a la aplicación terminal vas a escribir nano y darle enter
te va a pasar a otra pantalla, ahí le vas a dar ctrl+o y abajo (arriba de los comandos que salen sobre el teclado) te va a salir para que escribas el archivo que quieres buscar
ahi es donde vas a escribir /home/user/.config/cepiperez/whatsup.conf y le das enter
te deberían salir las mismas cosas esas que dijiste arriba pero lo vas a poder editar
entonces vas a escribir
Username=(tu número de celular con el código del país pero sin el + que usualmente va al principio)
Password=(el código que te envió el wart en el msj)
cuando ya lo tengas escrito le das ctrl+x para salir del programa y te va a preguntar si quieres guardar los cambios y le das que si
te va a decir con que nombre lo quieres guardar y debe salir el mismo que ya tiene, le das enter
y teeeeecnicamente ya debería estar listo
digo técnicamente porque, según lo que he podido leer en este foro mas unos cuantos ensayos y errores de mi parte, eso es lo necesario para que el whatsup este listo para funcionar pero yo aun no lo he podido hacer, espero que a ti si te funcione :)

Most folks for whom English isn't their primary language don't post in their native tongue here.
It's usually only Spanish/Portuguese speakers who think it's okay & do it often, I wonder why?

I doubt it's that, not when speakers of every other language don't do it (or do it far less).
If it's that, then it'd suggest only speakers of those languages don't care about nettiquette.
And it's not very reasonable to make generalisations like that...
