Okie, contact applet can be disabled by installinng cmd-navigator from above link. But what about presence applet WITH your accounts enabled. Because this thread is about screenshots and im mysterious (or a prick :p), i'll leave you with a screenie:
I have fixed my prickish ways. I actually was going to write up a guide but as soon as I saw it needed root access and vi, I thought it would be easier on n00bs to create a deb: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...d.php?p=153051 Enjoy. |
Re: Show off your screenshots
To answer the questions about my theme.
1. How to get the border less theme. I made a copy of a theme I liked, echo in my case. To get rid of the borders along the top and left side I edited the image files located in /usr/share/themes/theme name/images/ qgn_plat_theme_thumbnail.png qgn_plat_home_status_bar_background.png qgn_plat_task_navigation_background.png I used Gimp to edit the images. I just removed all the color leaving only the transparency. There are also some files under the theme directory that will need editing for the name of your copied theme, I'll post the file names later (I'm at work). 2. For the icon, I replaced the original located in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/hildon You will need to remove /usr/share/icons/hicolor/icon-theme.cache then run gtk-update-icon-cache -f -t /usr/share/icons/hicolor Make sure to back up the orignal one first. I got the info here... http://maemo.org/development/documen...ng_themes.html There is also theme maker avaiable for OS2008 but I'm happy with most of the echo theme. http://konttoristhoughts.blogspot.co...eme-maker.html Let me know if you want more info. |

OK. Blew an evening playing 'round with ThemeMaker to rid myself of the border and try to lighten up the radio icon.
The Jodphur photo (photo 1) is with my new NiceLight theme (the one with the default theme is somewhere earlier on this thread as a comparison). It's nice that the radio isn't *as* obvious and borderless looks good on detailed backgrounds like the harbour near the Burrard Bridge in Vancouver (photo 2). Thanks to qwerty12's new deb (located in the Apps forum today), I managed to also get rid of my 'presence' indicator. I just wish there was some way to make the radio icon smaller, too. It manages to overpower most of my photos :( But I'm getting to where I want to go at least but I don't think I'll truly be happy until that damned radio button stops ruining my view ;) (photo 3). |
Re: Show off your screenshots
Betty: Is there anyway that you can share that theme with the rest of us? Id do it myself but I have no idea where to start!

Yeh, those borderless themes are awesome, would be nice if someone could post that for us all to use.

@Betty Woo Nice job, thanks :) Although (maybe because I am male), I wouldn't really like to see a Sumo's *** when I switch on my NiT. :P :D |
