Stupid question: did you flash also the Sailfish OS files?
Please follow the following instructions for multirom https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Ada...rhead#MultiROM Maybe you're mixing CM12 with Sailfish based on CM13 from Mautz? Download the latest image of @edp17 from here and use that one https://mega.nz/#!lC5UhCqb!IuPF-dzGc...onB9duzeqPrrAA |

This will (should) work with either with both twrps the 'twrp_multirom_hammerhead_2150630.img' (twrp 2.8.7.0) or the newer 'twrp_multirom_hammerhead_20160210.img' (twrp v3.3). (However with this latter you cannot flash any zip files over a secondary rom, if you need to do that just flash the newer twrp and reboot into recovery. I had been swapped between these two twrps when was playing with UT and different versions of Sailfish where I tried the SFDroid and other stuff. If you only need Sailfish, you don't need this magic that I wrote in this brackets. :)) |

Please tell us which files(filenames!) exactly do you use and in which order you flash them.

By the way, @mautz, do you know how to update the MER wiki about the Nexus 5? A lot of people are being redirected there when looking for info about Sailfish but it's seriously outdated with no links to TMO relevant threads.

mautz or edp17, would be possible to recompile the kernel with the missing flags in order to run flatpak based browser Angelfish?

Main advantage is getting access to Qt 5.12 and later to Qt 5.14. Qt 5.12 WebEngine corresponds to Chrome 75 (June 2019) with additional security patches applied. As for browser, its less feature rich than the stock one, but we are working on it with Plasma developers. |

As my question probably won't be appreciated on the sailfishos-porters channel, I ask here. ;)
Can somebody help me with the AD, please? On my S2 I have managed to install the rpm and have changed the /opt/alien/system/script/platform_extraenvsetup.sh to have the proper bits and bobs for the 3D, Camera and HW codes but when I try to start, I get Code:
alien_bridge_server: The 'mergePresenceChanges' option has not been configured - presence changes will only be reported via ContactManagerEngine: contactsPresenceChanged() |
Re: SailfishOS 2.0 Nexus 5 CM12.1 Alpha1 | Sfdroid Pre-Alpha/Early Preview
I flashed the new kernel for flatpak support but now I have no WLAN! I can't turn it on...Which kernel do I have to flash to restore the default one?

I had this issue before but not with this one. Don't really know why because I also have included the wifi module into the zip. Anyway, here you can find the previous kernel. I hope this will work. I guess you are not using multirom. Haven't you create a backup before flashed the kernel? |

Re: SailfishOS 2.0 Nexus 5 CM12.1 Alpha1 | Sfdroid Pre-Alpha/Early Preview
I do use multirom, however I did not backup before flashing.
How do you do a backup of a specific rom? I was considering dd over ssh but have not tried yet. Anyway, the output is: Code:
$ ls /lib/modules/3.4.0-cyanogenmod-g3a439b93663/ Btw, despite the added flags in the kernel Angelfish does not start, I'll report in the other thread. |

Here is the workaround: (please do not flash the other kernel because you'll get the same issue, hence we should fall back forward :D) Please do the following: - unzip the flatpak kernel into a folder (e.g. /home/nemo/tmp) - run this command as root Code:
mkdir /lib/modules/`uname -r` - copy the /home/nemo/tmp/modules/bcmdhd.ko into the new location /lib/modules/3.4.0-cyanogenmod-gcf8d299404c/ - reboot With this you should have flatpak support in the kernel and working wifi. Please let me know how it went. |

The Angelfish is not starting may be because of the same reason why it didn't start on my S2. Probably. It is explained here. |

How do we make a backup of a secondary rom with multirom? Well, we cannot. What we can do is backing up the entire directory where the rom sits but not including the boot (kernel) and recovery partitions. This means that in your case this "backup" wouldn't save you as you flashed a new kernel (different signature) which has caused the trouble. On the other hand with this method you can free up some space with archiving unused but wanted to keep roms. Then later it can be "restored" back if you need. (That's how I kept my experiments with sfdroid and older SFOS versions saved onto my network drive.) If you would like to do this, you just need to boot into another rom and as root create a tar.gz of the whole folder where your other rom sits in /android/media/0/multiro/roms/. (I don't recommend to do this with the rom you are actually using!) You may also find the following useful. Because I have lost many well configured systems when tried something new and had to start to setup everything from scratch oll over again, nowadays I am doing the following:

Re: SailfishOS 2.0 Nexus 5 CM12.1 Alpha1 | Sfdroid Pre-Alpha/Early Preview
@edp17
You can change the kernel string in the defconfig file. CONFIG_LOCALVERSION is what you are looking for. For example: CONFIG_LOCALVERSION="-cyanogenmod-g0aac178" You need to disable CONFIG_LOCALVERSION_AUTO to make these changes work. And you need to change lines 86 and 87 in META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary to match the new localversion. |

my bad, I retried today and it works as expected! Yesterday the wireless network was not visible to other devices.
Another problem I just noticed is that bluetooth file sharing does not work. I tried from Sailfish to Android and viceversa but no luck. Other bluetooth functionalities:

About the bluetooth file sharing, I am not sure whether that ever worked on unsupported devices. I only use the bt with a headset and an external speaker and very rarely with a keyboard, so I have never tested the file sharing. You can use the wifi hotspot for file sharing. I know this is a bit inconvenient to use but better than nothing:

I have installed the SFTP plugin into Total commander and I set up a connection using the other device's IP address (172.28.172.2). This way I can browse the other device like a local folder and copy/paste files from and to it easily. What is interesting though with this solution, while TC on the host device cannot "see" outside of the android "box", the target device where I sftpd in shows everything, including the sailfish os root. My next other idea is mounting the other device into a folder. (I am using the cifs package from openrepos for this to connect to my NAS at home when I need.) If this is required to run a samba server on the target device, for Android there is a free one in google play store that supports SMB and CIFS.) :) Plus there is the JuiceSSH app in there so the connection via ssh should also work on Android too. I know this is not so universal as bluetooth but I think it is more secure as you only turn any of these on if and when you need, while a bluetooth can be left on. (Although a switched on bt might not be an issue, I don't know as am not good at hacking.) |
Re: SailfishOS 2.0 Nexus 5 CM12.1 Alpha1 | Sfdroid Pre-Alpha/Early Preview
Well, I only use bluetooth once in a while to share pictures or videos from phone to phone and this functionality can't be replaced with other hacks :D
In the Sailfish version I used before (2.0.4.13 based on CM12.1 from @mautz) bluetooth file sharing worked as expected. |

If this worked before, then probably it can be fixed. I am happy to do that but probably will need some support from mautz to know what to change. Are you aware whether the bluetooth file sharing works on the other sailfish os with cm13 base? |

Perhaps I missed something but is there any way to get Alien Dalvik (or equivalent) installed for running Android apps?
Sorry, I'm new to Sailfish OS. |

For Alien Dalvik and Android apps yes, it works without camera and videos in android apps (if you try to play a video within an android app it will crash). Apart from that, I am using Whatsapp, Telegram, Here maps and some others and their running fine. With the first two voice calls works too. The package was created by the user @matemana and published here. but the file is not present anymore, I have reuploaded it here. You can just download and install as it is, first allow untrusted sources in Settings. Keep in mind that Alien Dalvik is shareware and officially not available on ported devices. On the other hand, if you have paid a Sailfish licence I would not be worried, it's your choice! |

Re: SailfishOS 2.0 Nexus 5 CM12.1 Alpha1 | Sfdroid Pre-Alpha/Early Preview
Experimenting is always good!
But SFdroid works only with the old SFOS 2.0.something. If you would like to use Sailfish I suggest you to get a recent version, because many apps have been updated and work only with newer releases of the OS. |

@mautz: I have a bad news about the Anbox. BirdZhang has stopped working on it. :(
This means for the 14.1 base there won't be support anymore. I know you are not really interested to the Android support but it may impact your work with the 14.1 base. |
