Re: Quake 3 on N900
Nope it doesnt exist
The pk3 are in (as in Windows 7) Nokia N900 > baseq3 When I do cd MyDocs, base q3 isnt there! When I launch Xterm, and do ls, I get MyDocs and baseq3. If I cd into baseq3, I have the following filesautoexec.cfg, cgamearm.so, q3.sh, qagamearm.so, bots.cfg, demoloop.cfg, q3config.cfg and uiarm.so. ^^^^^ I assume those files are from ioquake I cant locate the pk3 at all? |
Re: Quake 3 on N900
ok so i installed gpe file manager
I tried to copy the pk3 files from: /home/user/mydocs/baseq3 to /home/user/baseq3 This failed, because I dont have permission. So, instead I copied the cfg and so files from /home/user/baseq3 to /home/user/mydocs/baseq3 This worked. But quake 3 still isnt running :( |

Re: Quake 3 on N900
Here is a simpler guide for installing Quake 3 on your N900. It worked for me. (Thanks to llaadd too, as it contains parts of his guide)
- On your N900 open the web browser and goto http://repository.maemo.org/ - Click on install next to "Fremantle Extras-Deval" which is half way down the page (WARNING - Do not install unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing and have fully read and understood the above information from qgil) - Give it a few seconds and it should load up the application manager, click on add and it should update the catalogue automatically - Goto the games sub-menu and find ioquake3 and install it - If you get an error installing and it asks for "Libgles1-sgx-img", it is because you have disabled some of the other repositories, make sure you keep the default ones enabled all the time!! - Now, find and install GPE File Manager. - Plug in your N900 into the PC, and when you get to the files section, create a folder called "baseq3". - Copy the 2 .pk3 files into this folder. - Quake 3 files are located in 3 different roots. > /home/user/MyDocs/baseq3 - This is where your .pk3 files are > /home/user/baseq3 - This is where ioquake3 files are (you can ignore this tho) > /home/user/.q3a/baseq3 - This is where the .pk3 files need to be. This is a hidden folder. - Open up GPE File Manager and navigate to /home/user/MyDocs/baseq3. Copy both .pk3 files. - Now in the address bar in GPE File Manager, type in /home/user/.q3a/baseq3 and hit Enter. You will now see an empty folder, or with a file called crashlog.txt (If the folder does not exist, try running Quake 3 off the main menu first. It wont work and quit for you, the folder should then be created) - Paste the .pk3 files into here. Make sure you LEAVE the phone alone for 5 minutes or so. Even if the light goes off, DONT press anything or touch the screen, as it just cancels the paste. Let it paste all the way. And your done! |
Re: Quake 3 on N900
I really hate playing games on mobile phones because its barely playable and damn slow.

Re: Quake 3 on N900
Did PR1.1 add framerate for Quake?

Re: Quake 3 on N900
Hooray, ioquake3 and libgles1-sgx-img (0.20091104.6+0m5) just installed flawlessly for me! The problem with libgles1-sgx-img has been fixed!

Re: Quake 3 on N900
Am I the only one who finds the controls HORRIBLE? The Duke Nukem 3D touch controls are so much better. Am I doing something wrong?
