Hi

I found an issue. When I use the keyboard to type something (for instance, while searching) when I hit 'e' the cursor goes back 1 chracter. This is probably because of xbmc's keyboard mapping, so I was wondering if there's a workaround or something that can be done. For now I write all in caps, so maybe that could work, to pop-up the keypad with default all caps?

thanks,

I remember having fixed such a problem. Not sure though if its exactly this, Please try 1.2.2 and report back.

here's an update to 1.2.2. It contains the thumbnail fix which really should boost performance for everyone affected by the bug.

Perfect! Works a charm! No more laggy performance issues under XBMC Eden anymore. Thanks!!

mzanetti: you, my friend, are awesome!
Has anyone tried using this for music playback only, headless on your stereo?
I have a Raspberry Pi, I think about putting Xbian on it and running it headless, with my little kitchen stereo as audio out.
Playlist management etc operated only by xbmcremote on my N900! Any similar experiments/experiences out there?
Does Xbmcremote have the ability to power up a standalone XBMC system such as e.g. Xbian on a RasPi?

This is exactly the use case I've written Xbmcremote for in the first place. Not sure if the raspberry Pi has Zeroconf and wakeonlan enabled by default. If yes, trying to connect with Xbmcremote should automatically wake up your raspberry pi. If you don't use Zeroconf, make sure to insert the MAC address when configuring a new host in xbmcremote.

If you use a N9 and have NFC tags around, tapping the tag with your phone is enough to launch Xbmcremote and boot up your raspberry pi.

Hi,

I got xbmc 2:11.0 and xmbcremote 1.1 on my n900.
After connecting, there's only a screen with a library of videos, music and pictures, they're all empty. Why do I not have my regular xbmc menu?
I don't use the latest version of xbmcremote, because I'd have to update a lot of libraries from the devel repository then, and I don't want to experiment with updates, which aren't verified for regular use.

Most likely you don't have your library set up in xbmc. You really should scan your media files to the library. If you don't want that, you can use the "Files" submenu - but you will miss out a lot of features of both, xbmc and xbmcremote.

Ok, but that means, I can't use add-ons in xbmc like youtube? My most need would be to use the keyboard of the n900.

Swipe the screen to the left twice, or use Fn + Left/Right (or was it ctrl + Left/Right ?) to get to the keypad page. From there you can use the keypad of your N900 (or the on screen keypad) to control your xbmc.

Now that Frodo is in beta, have you thought more about implementing the API update?

Thanks.

As I said. Git master already works fine with Frodo (except some minor outstanding bugs). For now you need to compile it on your own though if you want to run Frodo beta... Stay tuned for the Frodo release.
