so seems to work for me with 52.200.182.188 in /etc/hosts

unless i'm just benefitting from cached data since i haven't travelled much

Switching my /etc/hosts to that address has fixed GPS for me as well.

A naive question: Can't you just set the A-GPS URL directly to that IP address and leave hosts alone? I am tempted to fire up my N900 and try... :D

Nopd.
For whatever reason the settings field for supl server only accepts fully qualified server name, no IP addresses.

(And iirc the same counts for the e-mail server fields.)

Today I noticed that this host does not seem to respond ... or is the problem with my network? So A-GPS is once again broken for me.

This server does not respont to ping nor to telnet.
So either down or blocked.
