Re: [Announce] Webcat Browser
Update: 2.0.7 is out now.
This is mainly a bugfix release. As I now have a TOHKBD to test it myself I did optimizations here and there and fixed some input handling again to make it a pleasant experience. Get RPM List of changes:

Re: [Announce] Webcat Browser
Update: 2.0.8 is out now.
Mostly bugfixes and some UI refreshments. So the video player got the UI update from LLs Video Player (better viewable in dark or bright videos). Also the timer that saves the session every few minutes is stopped when the app is not active preserving CPU and in consequence a little bit of battery life if the browser is running in the background. I also added some fixes like the desktop file now allowing paramters like files to be taken into account. Biggest change for some of which want to run Webcat as their default browser I managed to find a way that works similiar like the sailfish-browser handles it. So there is a button now in settings to Set Webcat as default browser or to restore to the defaults. This uses a dbus call so that if the browser is already opened a click on a link in tweetian should open a new tab in Webcat. If the browser isn't running it should open Webcat and request the clicked url. This was made all possible in cooperation with Dax89 the developer of WebPirate. Get the RPM
Notice: All who have Mimer installed please be aware the new dbus method of setting the browser as default browser is not supported by it. So please use the webcat buttons for it. |
Re: [Announce] Webcat Browser
Update: 2.0.9 is out now.
This version introduces many bugfixes and uses a new video player component inside the tab. Most significant bug fix was the youtube stream grabber that now should always correctly grab all supported (by gstreamer on SailfishOS) 720p, 360p and 240p videos. Here is a little demovideo: https://youtu.be/Ck2TND0-PwE Changes:
Grab the new version from openrepos.net As the harbour works a little bit slower the update there will take a little bit longer (appr. till the end of this month) I also uploaded a tablet version you can get from here |
Re: [Announce] Webcat Browser
Small bugfix release.
Harbour was complaining about the rtsp stream that opens up if you are on youtube and click the youtube play button instead of the mediabar play button. Due to the removed amr support in SailfishOS there is no sound for those videos. So I hacked a little workaround for it. Basically a click on the youtube play button will send a signal to the mediabar play button. This is basically all for this new rpm.

Re: [Announce] Webcat Browser
Thanks for the continued support.
I would like to make webcat the default browser but when using dolphin keyboard the arrows do not work. Any idea? |

I guess the dolphin keyboard should simulate those arrow keys. |
Re: [Announce] Webcat Browser
They just do not appear at all!
My tohkbd arrow cursor work well everywhere, too. It is just that those buttons are fully missing inside webcat. Be it in text boxes or url boxes. Just checked with stock browser and there they also do not appear inside url box but do inside text boxes ;) So probably more a question for dolphin developer? |
