Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
OK, it did automatically refreshed itself. Now all songs in my Music folder in the main SD card are in my playlist.
Now the question is how can I listen to music and do something else on the device? :D |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
play song then press back few times
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Hehe, indeed it can multitask. But nothing like Maemo's task browser? Oh yes dragging down the taskbar shows what is active at that moment.
It would be nice to support earphone, so that I can discover more without disturbing others around :D |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
headphone supports being looked at :).

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
I have a small suggestion: Map camera key(as in half-down, not entirely down) as the 'back' key and use backspace as backspace.
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
thats a good idea but the camera button is not active as yet (for some reason nokia decided to make it its own module
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
You'll have to get it inside DSL somehow, use a usb-stick for example(that is the easiest way IMO, except for virtualbox which has a easy network-sharing feature).

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
DJ_Steve: Sound is not working for me. I added the asound.config yesterday and tested lastnight. I have no sound anywhere. All my settings for (seemingly) correct.

the files for things like changing volume are not their so music is what works

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
It's in the root of SD (android rootfs)
Quick question: Does this kernel have a framebuffer console. I know it's a verbose booting kernel (love that). |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
that is framebuffer console lol. and it needs to be in /system/etc as i mentioned :)
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Thanks. Why use 2 different names for same thing!! Confuses me.
Thanks for that. |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
we can blame the linux kernel for being annoyin with names their

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
any idea how to put the phone in portrait mode?
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Can you use easy Debian on the n900 to prepare the SD card ?
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
If it's not installed to your SD card... It's possible.
Easier on your computer. I'm sure it's possible. All you really need if fdsik. |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Sound works perfect. Tested on a game from appstore :D
Hmm when i press power it doesn't turn off the screen(it stays black with communications about "what is going on with device" :D ). Is it normal? |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Just so everyone knows. if you [right click > save as] the rootfs link it downloads a 200~250kb file and not the 43.1mb rootfs

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Hello dj_steve,
you are still doing a great job and I would like to thank you. But I've got a little problem with sound. I put the correct file in the correct folder (/system/etc) but nothing happens when I play some music. I rebooted my android twice but it's still the same problem: no sound at all! Any suggestion? regards. |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Keep up the good work Steve!!!
Was just wondering, you reckon its possible to post a list of what needs doing in priority order, and whats already done? Thanks and i just think it will answer alot peoples questions :P Oh and any idea about portrait support? That'd be awesome :) And like someone said earlier, you are the man :D |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
portrait ill have to look at as its a bit annoyin to work out. as for priority list we dont really have one as it tends to be what we can make progress on at the time tho at moment it seems to be as below
working on: sound support phone/data being looked at: rotation accelerometer non-critical parts being left at moment keyb slide power management/sleep tweaks watchdog processes |

Concerning my sound problem, I tried again and it's now working.
I don't understand why now and why not before, but I'm glad it's working  |

first all, thanks so much to all those who contribute daily to this endeavor(this project actually made me change my mind about selling my phone), i was able to install android on my n900 in no time at all, which is amazing since im a complete novice at linux.. :) @ dj_steve and anyone else who may be in a position to help, im stuck at installing apps, sound and everything else is working. Iv tried the chmod 777 fix on the system/app and system/data folder and even though the 777 permissions were applied, i still get the no space error. Android is installed on an 8gig sdcard and the system reports that 6.8gig is free.. |

I actually like the "behind the scenes" when you flick it over to standby. It's gives it a nice nerd appeal. :) No one else?
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
@dj_steve: is it possible to calibrate the screen? Is there an app to do this? I tried in the console emulator "touch test" but it gave me an error: "permission denied" even after having typed "su" to get root's permissions.
|
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
I don't know if DjSteve is aware of this project, anyway I'm posting it.
http://code.google.com/p/rowboat/ "Enable key OMAP35xx, AM37xx, AM35x hardware features (ARM plus NEON, DSP, 2D/3D Accelerated Graphics and others)" :D Now we can have accelerated 3D and DSP support! |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
i installed it yesterday and this morning was it working but now when i boot to android i only get the background and the topbar but nothing happens.
