I also use stock voltage with a CPU frequency of 1150 mhz. So far, I've only had one reboot in many weeks. Therefore this seems to be a pretty stable configuration to me!

Use N9QTweak Tweak EE to install inception...Its like a one-step installation...

Oh, sorry, I forgot aegisctl is not part of the main inception package.
It's not the reason the opptimizer doesn't work though, aegisctl is just needed when you run the manual commands. I suspect your actual problem is the .ko files are missing or in the wrong folder.
See thread here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=82991to for how to install and use it, the last post has a link to download it.

Btw, for anyone that wants the 1.2.7 changelog, I lost the source temporarily so it's not been pushed yet, but my notes from before state:
opptimizer-ui (1.2.7) unstable; urgency=low
* Support for VDD2 / GPU settings (only smart reflex for now)
* Fixed bug where incorrectly installed OPPtimizer always thinks there are updates available

I have installed aegis but i still have the same error, is there any workaround ? Can i put the file somewhere manually?

uninstall kernel modules
restart phone by holding power button 10 seconds
install kernel modules

Got my N9 with default voltage @ 1.05Ghz, with 1.25v @ 1.2GHz and now I keep it 1.365V @ 1.3Ghz. @ 1.35v it crashes immediately. Not so good overclocker.

1.2Ghz at 1.275V since 1 months, not a single issue, not heavy user (no games).

Hi there,
As I'm facing some weird issues, I would like to remove opptimizer, and I didn't find any Inception command to do so.

Any idea how to uninstall Opptimizer? Thanks.

apt-get purge opptimizer and apt-get purge opptimizer-ui , it should work .

but first of all ... what issues are you facing ?

The last posted link does also not work..
Have the same problem here: "FAILED TO EXECUTE LOADER".

I have installed (in this order): INCEPTION (installer), Opptimizer (core), OpptimizerN9. Before I have also installed FasterN9 and Home Screen Settings.

Thanks for your suggestions. :)

Cheers

You installed inception (installer) but did you activate it?

You're right... I didn't activate it and I have to activate the developer mode first. Is it possible to activate the developer mode after I installed inception and will it work then?

I believe it's

Type in X-Terminal as user :
$ devel-su -c /usr/sbin/pasiv
type the root password (default is rootme), then confirm with yes.

Ok, thank you... Will try it later.

Is it possible to activate the developer mode after I installed inception and will it work then? Or do I have to install inception (and OPPtimize) again after enabling dev mod?

EDIT: What about "aegisctl" - do I need it for overclocking?

From first post regarding aegisctl:

Quote:

You don't need opensh or aegisctl anymore.
Secondly, if you have installed inception regardless of activating it already enabling developer mode won't make a difference to it so I presume you haven't activated inception then just enable developer mode and activate inception...

Thank you!

But it still doesn't work :( see here:
http://www.abload.de/img/screen_27-nov-1adbpy4.png

And btw - I don't know why it asks me to install "new" version, i have the latest:
http://www.abload.de/img/screen_27-nov-2uqr7n.png

Cheers

EDIT: Looks like I acitvated inception. Will it stay activated and if yes, for how long... Or do I have to activate it after every restart?
And the most important question: how can I bring OPPtimize now to work?

Thank you very much for your help! :)

you only need to ever activate inception once and it'l stay as such till a eeflash...your screenshot clearly shows inception is activated...

I think you foget this part:

Install in this order!
(change to the directory you saved the files)
/usr/sbin/incept opptimizer_1.5.4_armel.deb
/usr/sbin/incept opptimizer-ui_1.2.7_armel.deb

You may try uninstalling it first using these commands

First, open xterminal as "root"

Then, type apt-get purge opptimizer

Wait until you see the #. Next, apt-get purge opptimizer-ui

After you successfully uninstalled both of them try installing them again in the order as what DeepBlue said. Then try running OPPtimizer and do the tweak. Hope it helps :)

Ok. I have installed it in the right order but I don't know what to do now... If I write "/usr/sbin/incept opptimizer_1.5.4_armel.deb" [...] in the Terminal, it just shows me "No such file or directory".

Btw: I have installed the 1.5.4 but in the Info it shows me "OPPtimizer version 1.2.7"

Transfer first the downloaded files to "/home/user" using file manager. Then, install in this order!
(change to the directory you saved the files)
/usr/sbin/incept opptimizer_1.5.4_armel.deb
/usr/sbin/incept opptimizer-ui_1.2.7_armel.deb

Thanks! :) But there is no folder called "/home/user". Do I have just to create such a folder and paste it inside? (Before I had installed the files from "Downloads")

Thank you again for your effort - my first time doing things like that.

thedead1440 2012-11-27 10:03

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.3 [ko v1.5.4] [ui v1.2.7]

Just save it in /home/user/MyDocs/ then do:

Code:

devel-su
{enter your password}
cd /home/user/MyDocs/
/usr/sbin/incept opptimizer_1.5.4_armel.deb
/usr/sbin/incept opptimizer-ui_1.2.7_armel.deb

Edit: Just saw your edit saying you saved in /home/user/MyDocs/Downloads/ before so just change the above command "cd /home/user/MyDocs/" to "cd /home/user/MyDocs/Downloads"

No. You just need to transfer it there. You don't need to make a new folder with that name. Anyway, do you have a file manager on your N9?

Ýes, I have a file manager but I don't know what: "Just save it in /home/user/MyDocs/ " really means... There is no folder or anything called like that where I could copy the installation files. Sorry.

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.3 [ko v1.5.4] [ui v1.2.7]

just plug your N9 into PC or laptop via USB then copy those 2 files and paste it in. when you access into your N9 Mass Memory, you are in /home/user/MyDocs. Hope my explanation help :)

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.3 [ko v1.5.4] [ui v1.2.7]

Thank you all very much. Even without this command: /usr/sbin/incept opptimizer-ui_1.2.7_armel.deb (Terminal: not found) it looks like OPPtimizer is working finally.

Will try to overclock later @ home :)

Edit: Now everything works. :) Running at 1150 MHz @ 1362500 µV!

How many reboots did you have with your configuration (1370 MHz & 1387500 μV) and how long is your N9 running with this?

Cheers

It only rebooted once, then i applied it again and never randomly reboots again. With normal usage, it can last for 2 days tops. With extensive usage, it can last for 1 day tops, if lucky. High usage usually gets me about 12 hours.

I installed Inception with N9QTweak, reboot. Then installed opptimizer_1.5.4_armel.deb and then User Interface 1.2.7.

When I start the UI it says that new kernel module available even tough my app list show 1.5.4 to be installed. Raw output shows Failed to execute loader.
