I am guessing that the price drop is to compete with iPod touch which sells for $299.

Hmm... interesting. Hadn't thought of it that way.

That would explain why there's no price drop in Europe, the iPod Touch costs $500 here, the same as the N800.

The price drop was expected by most here I think, but I didn't think it would drop this low so fast. At this price, I'm thinking I might be able to grab a couple for Christmas presents. I hope there's not a shortage because of it though.

This sucks. I was planning on selling mine out of disgust from it being in repair for over two months, but now I'll be losing money on it if I do. :(
