you do have python2.5 installed? If you have xterm installed run from the command line and post the results. Rick |
Re: Announce - New app datable
The app installs fine both ways, the problem is launching it.
I just found out that if I run it from the command line, everything is fine. The problem, thus, is with the app entry in the menu (Extras). Hope this helps. |
Re: Announce - New app datable
Strange I've Just uninstalled and re-installed on my N800 and all works as you would expect. I must dig out my 770 and try on there. I must admit to no yet trying it on the 770 I just assumed that with it being a python pro that as long as you had 2.5 installed it would work.

The DaTable.services file has been corrupted somehow. This is not just a 770 thing anyone installing for the first time will have this problem. If you are Ok with gainroot and editing system files then file Code:
/usr/share/dbus-1/services/DaTable.service Code:
[ Code:

Just a fix for the corrupted service file. Should now open from the menu. Rick |
Re: Announce - New app datable
Absolutely love this - I will be using this more than probably any other program on my N800 for organizing contacts, keeping record of expenses, daily log, etc.
One wish list item - the ability to have the records display descending - maybe by clicking on the column head? Or a settings choice? Keep up the great work! |
Re: Announce - New app datable
Related, but slightly off topic... Do you have tips & hints from your recent experience in packaging a python application into a deb? I have an application I wish to package, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to do it -- I've RTFM but still things do not work quite how I expect.
Any hints/suggestion would be appreciated! Robert B. |
