Re: Browser font size./Midnight Commander..

When using Midnight Commander (THANKS!!), is there a way to keep the display keyboard from popping up, after you scroll through each directory? It is somewhat annoying.

Not as far as I know (maybe if you use a BT keyboard; haven't tried it yet). And yes: it is annoying.

I can view the line "minimum font size=7" but cannot change it.
What am I doing wrong?

After selecting the file, did you click on the "4Edit" button at the bottom of the mc screen?

If you didn't, mc always defaults to the file viewer, which deceptively looks like the editor, until the unsuspecting user tries to change something. It's just UNIX's way of trying to be funny... :o

Find the entry that says:

Minimum Font Size=(some number)

and replace (some number) with your preference. I use 18.

I know something about wine but have no idea where I could locate the file /home/user/.opera/opera.ini. Way too technical for me. Kindly take me by the hand.

1- Use Xterm to get to command prompt.
2- Use an editor like vi or MC to edit that file.
3- Save the changes.
4- Done.

"mc" is Midnight Commander, a Norton Commander lookalike for UN*X and Linux. Both it and Xterm can be found at the maemo repositories.

Teaching you how to use both is beyond the scope of this forum. May I suggest either a good beginners' book on Linux -- or just use the zoom keys.
