Could you try a darker orange and a dark-ish grey? (as two separate mockups I mean...)

Try it without the orange and only using your sub-titles as the new titles and I believe Krisse's original point is best illustrated.

If you must use subs on that bar, try them at a lighter shade of gray perhaps.
