i tried to save the files in the directory, but its says "NOT ALLOWED"
im sure i have root enabled.

i just made one for hardwarezone search:

Thanks for the eBay one, I've been wanting to make one myself, but never got around to it... :(

Also, as a suggestion, how about you package them up(images and xml files) in a zip file or something?

On the N800 all you would need to do is:

1) Unzip the files
2) Disable the "Internet Search" applet temporarily
3) Copy the .xml files into /usr/share/mis
4) Copy the .png files into /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/hildon/
5) Enable the "Internet Search" applet again

Oh man, this is exactly what I was after: IMDB and a PhoneBook extension to the desktop internet search!

Gonna try this out tonight and hoping that it will work even though it was posted quite some time ago :)
