I also don't understand the reason for your wife's need of a music editing application on the N900 if currently the ipod is used just for playing and the editing is done on the PC. Is she also trying to replace the PC or do editing on the go? .

yes, simple editing on the go.

Our DJ app is aimed at consumers, but I'm porting our ringtone remixing app for the N900: www.myrmx.com If she's just looking to have fun interacting and remixing music, maybe it would work for her.

Why exactly would someone need or want this on a mobile phone?

Please enlighten me because my interest is peaked. :)

maybe you do not beleive me, but if i can found a such app i WILL use it in the next rave where i will play... just to show what our jewel can do of course.

but it can be quite funny and useful also for a night at frien's home for a party :):)

i try mixxx under debian in n900 but it is unusable 'cause the sound is intermittent....

i maneged to install audacity using easy debian its working fine but it took like 10 min to export file as mp3 and 2 min to export it as wav.
and there is a problem that you cant hear the imported file becose it cant find any audio device.
just install it using synaptic pkg mgr to see what i mean!:D
