ayyak, You need to use the command line. The thread I gave you shows how it's used.

When I run my code i got the above error and the following:
1)Your indentation is outright incorrect(easy to fix), OR
2)Your indentation mixes tabs and spaces

i think the question is understandable

thanks for ur help

i'm not sure i understand the question.

i read it as; "can i download cloudmade maps and copy them from my PC onto my n900?"

i used to download cache packs for nasa world wind and unzip then to the relevant directory, and hey presto they would work.#

so i am a little dismayed at all this talk of creating SQLite databases and such nonsense.

and i misinterpreting the original question (hopefully so)?
if i am not misinterpreting the question, why on earth is so complicated to use cache packs of texture detail in maemo mapper (very useful if you down't have an unlimited data plan)?

regards

Because Google doesn't want you to use them without their Google Maps service (the maps themselves are not the service). They generally don't bother with clamping down though unless you are downloading large scathes of the planet.

i'm not talking about google, i am talking about openstreetmap in general, and clouldmade raster reformats of openstreetmap vector data which is free to download.

i know mameo mapper supports openstreetmap, but i'm not sure in what format, or how that data is loaded onto the device.

i use the example of nasa worldwind, and their downloadable cache packs as an example of the simplicity i expect maemo mapper to be able to achieve.

is this possible?
