Songbird can sync with any folder (with a plugin), and you can put n900 into Mass Storage mode and sync your music that way.
It also runs on Windows, Mac and Linux.

Nokia Multimedia Transfer seems to work also, but not perfectly. You might need to remove the phone profile from NMT every time before the sync, but then it will sync your playlists, videos, and photos from your Mac (Snow Leopard) just fine.

I like songbird but it makes a mess. I wish it would put everything in a music directory. Very little organization. Supposedly they're making changes in the next release (whenever that is).

I'll post here, I don't want to open a new thread.
I just bought a new SD, and configured photo app to save photos on in, instead o internal N900 memory.
Now, everytime I connect to my Mac, Nokia Multimedia Transfer doesn't see my shots. Am I missing something? Obviously, on internal memory iPhoto was filled with my images.

I have been using the Sailing Media Sync app to copy over pictures and music. Works well, BUT every time I copy the music over I need to move it manually from the "Music" folder Media Sync creates to the N900s "Audio Clips" folder. Sort of annoying. Also, it will sync my iPhoto pictures or my Aperture pictures but not both sets. Anyone have these issues and have a good solution?

Still working on this, and hoping someone else has a better solution than "drag over the whole iTunes folder whenever you buy one song." DoubleTwist doesn't bring all the stuff over, so I have to sync multiple times, getting more each time, and having 3 copies of every playlist.

NMT is not worth a crap. why cant they ever get this right.. i have not been able to sync one. it keeps crashing.
