The only youtube app (for N8*0) that will let you log in is digiaatscene.

I remove flash and a bunch of other things anywhere I can. So mYTube is certainly what I'll use to browse and watch. Of course an alternative is youtube-dl and copypasting the urls.

Thanks for the good work.

Would be great to have it up and running again.

And maybe for other sites as well, eg. megavideo ;)

Ive been tinkering with zoutube, you can download the .flv but it doesn't populate in the native media player on the n900 when I launch it. The complete dream would be being able to download from youtube and other sites and launch it via the media player and have the audio play thru the FM transmitter...any thoughts or brainstorms on this?

MyTube and especially the "awesome" ZouTube would benefit from user customizable saved searches or YouTube RSS feeds.

I would much rather be able to have quick, one touch access to recent AP, Al Jazeera, CBS, and BBC posted videos than "Pets & Animals" or the entertainment lists that ZouTube currently provides.

BTW, MyTube was "awesome" on the N8**'s for which I believe the current version was designed. The purpose of this thread I thought was for the author to gage interest for developing a N900 port. Not to cause anyone to load pieces of "sshit" on to their phones. :)

A quick shameless plug: If you only want to "subscribe" to YouTube RSS feeds, you can use gPodder which will from then on happily check the feed for new videos and ask you if you want to download new content to your device. The videos downloaded are in the "normal" MP4 format, and they look great and play well on the device.

You have to hit the "Subscribe" button, scroll down to "YouTube user channels", enter the username of the user you want to subscribe to and then you get a list of matching YouTube users. Pick the ones you would like to subscribe to, and let it download videos for you :)

Yup, I do that now with your most excellent program however, video must be downloaded first. It does not support streams.

Could a ZouTube or other extension be designed for GPodder to allow video streaming?
