Re: N800 in Canada
Well, tigerdirect is what, $508? Plus GST/PST, that's $579.12.

Re: N800 in Canada
It's $509.95 on Expansys.ca, which includes tax and customs but excludes shipping (which was $22 last year).
Obviously, if someone travels to US, they can pick it up there, but for ordering, Expansys is cheaper that TigerDirect and has good return policies (I never used that, thankfully, but people say they do). The only issue I had with them was that they couldn't clarify when your order will be shipped; it's painful to wait, but the longest that I waited for an order (my 770, actually) was 2 weeks. Guys, I'm not advertising them, but, I've bought around 10 items (4 orders) from them and I've had very good experience; not always the cheapest, but at least you can return or exchange, and they're prompt in addressing issues. |
Re: N800 in Canada
Sounds like a better option than having to go to the States. (Those of you that live outside the States will understand.) :)
.. I mean c'mon. "Steak & Shake"!??! *shiver* |

Re: N800 in Canada
I am considering buying an N800 but I have concerns about the warranty. The only place that I have found them for sale in Canada is on expansys.ca. It states on their site that this is the US version, would a device bought from them be covered under warranty? I tried to email them but never got a response.
Is there anywhere in Canada you can buy an N800 with a warranty? |
Re: N800 in Canada
You can pick one up at http://www.expansys.ca or goto the US. I bought mine in San Fran for $399 USD + taxes. This is kinda what sucks for people who like gadgets that live in countries with a low population... vendors don't care to sell to you =P I think the only thing we really get here is RIM Blackberry devices, and thats only because they are designed in Canada.

Re: N800 in Canada
Another Canadian source that will very soon (apparently) be selling the N800 is:
http://www.hi-mobile.net/Nokia/Nokia...Full-Unlocked/ About a month ago I inquired as to when they would actually be available -- and that time is now, but it is still a no-show. I did ask about warranty, and was told: "The item will come with a one year manufacture warranty." |

Alternatively you ship it to a US Nokia repair center and Nokia ship it back to Canada - with a small fee to cover the return leg. For Nokia to flat out refuse to honour their Warranty because the owner now happens to be in Canada (where N800's aren't available) no matter how the owner came by the device, seems to be pretty short sighted even scandalous. |
Re: N800 in Canada
Nokia n800 available from Nokia Canada for 470 plus 7 dollars shipping.
Hopefully will show up in Future Shop or Best Buy to help build a larger user base.:) |
