I couldn't get the new icons either.

First I just tried updating the theme by having it "switched on" and just applying update. Icons didn't appear, did a boot, icons still wouldn't appear.

Uninstalled theme and retrieved it again. Still no icons and this time the background images were missing. :/

Uninstalled and remove all files, then installed it again
It's working fine for me

/usr/share/themes/humanity
/usr/share/icons

which files do you suggest to remove? The Humanity folder within the themes folder?
