Re: [Proposal pending] open camera switch opens selection menu
Please create a Brainstorm item. Thread status changed to "Proposal pending".
The related menu should have only buttons related to the camera in my opinion! So the flashlight app would be a start to look at but also a "open" menu for the camera has to be universal and I think needs to be separated from the apps which want to use it so maybe an additional app which dependencies are coming from flashlight and others. |

What do you think about this possible solution ?

Re: [Proposal pending] open camera switch opens selection menu
that is the exact same idea i came up with. quicklaunch to come up on its own. see my screen shots. quicklaunch to be its own app when the shutter opens and not the camera UI.
b0unc3 - if you can do that. you will be famous. shouldnt be that hard??? call it 'quicklaunch cam' lol |
Re: [Proposal pending] open camera switch opens selection menu
It could be doable ;)
But I want to make it as a part of quicklaunch, instead of making another app also because other people requests to have quicklaunch openeable with a key shortcut but it seems to be impossible to make appear the statusbar menu, so I can implement this way of dialog opening also for quicklaunch. But I don't know, I feel a little bit confused atm :( |

First let me say Quicklaunch has been one of the handiest apps on the n900 so far.
This is what I think you should do. keep it the way it is but expand on the app. 1: have quicklaunch open in full screen mode like the control settings panel you have(example 1). To keep everyone else happy maybe have a key combination shortcut to launch Quicklaunch in full screen mode like ctrl+blue arrow+Q. Don’t worry about the status bar. Also only make this option available when an app is taken out of full screen mode....also you could make it transparent???? like this 2: have an option in the control panel to enable launch on shutter open(example 2). So replace the camera UI with full screen Quicklaunch like example 1 so i can select the app to launch other then the auto-load camera UI. Eg: qik and flashlight what do you think? does it solve all your problems?? keep the app the way it is but just expand |
Re: [Proposal pending] open camera switch opens selection menu
Uhm.. another idea (final idea I hope :)).
I will put a checkbox button in the control panel as the ones on your screenshot without making other complicated key shortcut combination and let the users decide to enable/disable it whenever they want. Now the last thing to manage is what to launch when you open the shutter, having to start an application is a little bit heavy and not so "quick". I will look if I can do something better than a simple dialog, that, by now, seems to be the only possible (and maybe best) solution. |

I've modified quicklaunch in order to do this job, the package is ready but it's builded with the pr1.2, so if I publish it now, no one can test it :( I think I'll wait until the pr1.2 will be available for the community. |
