Re: Wil be portrait mode in next firmware??
Probably "no", since Nokia is investing resources now with "Meego" and if Nokia is expecting the N900 to transition to Meego, perhaps they will for the feature to be universal, then.

Re: Wil be portrait mode in next firmware??
I don't think so. I think eventually Nokia will create portrait mode for N900. May be by using QT4.6 or 4.7

Re: Wil be portrait mode in next firmware??
I got myself very used to the landscape mode and pushing out the keyboard becomes my habit even when it's not necessary

Re: Wil be portrait mode in next firmware??
I would like to see portrait-landscape rotation mode in all applications.
It should be done through window manager, not by each individual app. There should be a mode for anti-rotation (like, you are lying, and your eyes are not left-right, but up-down). Warning: somewhat off-topic. And I would like neither GTK+ nor QT, but simple, minimalistic Matchbox. (X Terminal should work in it, it doesn't depend on GTK+.) File Manager will have to be replaced, and Camera App possibly too, and Maps, and Clock... And Fennec will have to be compiled without GTK+, if it's possible. :-/ What are your thoughts about minimalistic desktop environment with Matchbox (or anything minimalistic) as window manager, no widget toolkit, no fancy interface, compatible with Maemo 5 Fremantle 1.2. A single hack to turn GTK+ off (not uninstall, but temporarily disable) could be welcome. |
Re: Wil be portrait mode in next firmware??
i think it'll come and ctrl+shift+r is a prerelease of that

I'll put my money on that if there is another firmware release, it'll be a simple bugfix release.

Re: Wil be portrait mode in next firmware??
There is going to be another firmware release (bugs have been getting marked fix for PR 1.3 by Nokia bugfixers).
And you are right, it'll be a simple bugfix release. |
