Yes, it should work, but what I don't like about it is, it renders the entry in one long line, with no line breaks. Does yahoo show it dorrectly?

Oh, now I get what you mean about the carriage returns. It doesn't really matter with the RSS feed, but . . .

Anyway, Planet.Maemo picks up your front page in its entirety. So until you have things fully worked out, I'm not averse to doing a copy to a forum, if the same thing applied.

But, as you note, you can't really expect people to read it as one long string of characters. And I think at Planet.Maemo, they're running the full thing.

(Of course, not all planets do that. Planet.XMLhack runs about 150 words and then ... so if the item is longer, the reader has to go to the site. Not a bad thing, really.)

Still thinking about to implement an intro tag . . .

I'm trying to tweak the code to show each entry correctly in Planet Maemo. Give me a few minutes.

Thanks.

Ok Roger, here's a better feed that will look better from Planet Maemo:

You can submit this link instead.

Thanks.

OK, have done so.

Maybe I'll try putting in titles when I click on Reply to Thread.

Thanks for working this out, Reggie.

Yes, I'm putting the time by default if post has no titile.

Btw, my RSS reader (Google Desktop's Sidebar) correctly parses the post, even if it looks like it doesn't have line breaks.

Thanks.

Image question

Reggie,

As you can see, I put two pix in the most recent post.

I didn't know how to handle this, so I uploaded them to a site where I have ftp access, then put in a url in the post.

Is there a way to upload any images to this site instead?

Roger

Reggie 2005-08-26 21:03

Roger,

The forums let you actually attach files but they will appear as thumbnails at the end of the post.

I will try to set you up something so you can upload images directly to the server.

Thanks.
