you dont need a paypal account to donate.
on clicking the donate button it takes you to paypal where you have the option to enter your card details. ( something like this )
"Don't have a PayPal account?
Use your credit card or bank account (where available). Continue"

after donating , just click the "return to donations coordinator" button and it will bring you back to the site to display the key and also send an email. Paypal users get automatically redirected.
if you still face issues, you can PM/mail me from the contact section.

PM me the error list and it can be sorted out.
You probably have older QT libs. you can either upgrade them or reinstall .

This looks promising, although I refrain from installing anything untl PR1.2...

I have an 'impossible' request/suggestion. Many ppl manage their budgets together with their spouses. Could the app share/synchronize with another device, maybe through the cloud? Of course, it would then have to be able to run on my wife's N97 mini, but since its built on Qt... :)

Thanks . Though it beats me why people refrain from installing anything until PR1.2 :) !
Anyways, maybe you are aware, when PR1.2 is out QT4.6 becomes default, so the libqt4-maemo5* dependencies become libqt4-* and of course you will get an update, so its seamless.
Many of us have been left high and dry by PR1.2 delivery from Nokia, i couldnt wait longer so made sure I got it working on the device with PR1.1 also ;).

is it possible that it doesnt't work with 1.2? when i try to install the Deb file it wants to add a calatogue but i get an error everytime.

PR1.2 hasnt been released yet so nobody has it on their device :)
what error do you see when you install the catalogue ?
another option is to use your application manager on the phone, search for buddy and you will find it.

it adds maemo extras devel and when it's installing this catalogue then i will get an error after a time because it's still busy and then it says cannot download buddy. some package isn't found. and when i check the catalogue it added there is an error:

just uninstalled everything, and reinstalled on my device. works fine.
something seems to be wrong in the path you sent , since it points to fremantle-1.2 which is the repository for PR1.2.

alternatively, could you try the installation from the application manager on the device, search for buddy and install that. That should definitely work.

*EDIT*
seems like you have updated to the leaked PR1.2 image on your phone so all your repos for the extras app point to fremantle-1.2.
you need to get back to PR1.1.
