Re: [ANNOUNCE] Gargoyle: an advanced interactive fiction player

Good news -- I've pushed a new version to extras-testing:

http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...2010.09.01-10/

Changes:
  • Updated to the latest gargoyle from upstream. It should have all the new bugfixes and features developed during the past year. :)
  • Fixed file dialogs for loading and saving, they now have a standard look and feel.
  • Added a launcher from the 'apps' menu. Pressing the gargoyle icon will prompt you to open a game file, without having to drop down to the terminal.
  • Fixed internationalization issues. It should now support non-latin1 input and output.

Check it out and let me know how it goes. :)

Thanks for the extra quick update, tkatchev.
I've pushed gargoylelauncher to extras-testing too; but it's is use very minimal now that you've added a file choosing dialog plus icon to the menu.

Thanks again for the port (and the support :) )

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Gargoyle: an advanced interactive fiction player

Again, any chance for a Diablo build, tkatchev?

Thanks. :)

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Gargoyle: an advanced interactive fiction player

I'd be glad to, honestly, but having no access to such a device I have no idea of testing the build, even if extras-testing compiles it successfuly. :)

(Things like a lack of a physical keyboard might cause problems, for example...)

The n810 has a keyboard, and I would be very glad to test it on my device, and maybe even on the emulator.

Gragoyle needs ftjam (http://maemo.org/packages/view/ftjam/) to build, and it seems like there isn't a build of ftjam for diablo. :(

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Gargoyle: an advanced interactive fiction player

Hi all. I'm resurrecting this thread to let you know that I've recompiled the package with the latest fixes from upstream. The maemo .deb should now correspond with the official 2010.01 release.

You can get it here:

http://repository.maemo.org/extras-t...01-1_armel.deb

(The version number is a little bit different from the official upstream version number, to make the maemo repository scripts happy.)

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Gargoyle: an advanced interactive fiction player

Just stumbled upon Gargoyle by a stroke of luck - as it turned out. A whole universe of games I only remembered dimly from a time long gone just a touch away. Wow, the IF croud really flew below my Radar. Thanks a lot!

I'm sorry, but I just had to try this for Maemo 4. :)
