Doesn't really sound like the problem is with the N900. Try rebooting your router and trying again. Consider temporarily disabling any software firewall running on the PC.

I recon your N900 is almost certainly going to sleep..

I get that a lot since PR1.2..

try leaving the keyboard open or plugging into the charger to prevent it deep sleeping.. when it sleeps you won't be able to ping it.. mine wakes up every now and again to check my imap email..

Just tried pinging it and it timed out.. but I know it works as I logged in a while ago..
