Yes, because currently I do not quite understand what memory your are short of. Maybe root fs is too full to load deb-files?

yes since you need to flash the EMMC directly.. But uhm I think you could still back it up?

What is the full error message? If you do: df -h / ; du -sh /var/cache/apt/archives ...and put the full given output here, we may know the problem is that your rootfs is just too full to receive big deb-package. (Then it will help to soft link archives directory momentarily to /home/user/MyDocs/archives |

just hexedit the emmc image (i have mine at 5gb) and reflash - to me it is hte most simple and least dangerous. Just spend an evening backing up and restoring and rebackup your stuff.
You only have to do it once after all. |
