Re: Hildon-Home Keeps crashing.
The "recaller" application does this to me.

Re: Hildon-Home Keeps crashing.
Currently, the oonly way to stop hilldon-home from crashing, is to not use the app/wigdet.

Re: Hildon-Home Keeps crashing.
I faced the same trouble and it mostly happens after an alarm is triggered.
Then the calendar widget no longer refresh. I use only few widgets - not using DCEW, nor recaller. Here are what I have on my desktops: calendar, maxcpu, ConnectNow, Data Plan monitor. Everything else are shortcuts, contacts and bookmarks. As a work-around to get back your desktop, you can remove a widget then you get "hildon-home" does not respond. Close it. Then you have to insert back your widgets. |
Re: Hildon-Home Keeps crashing.
I removed maxcpu from by desktops and the issue never appeared again. 55 days uptime !

I only experienced this seldom. But after deinstalling/installing, this did not happen anymore. Just make sure, that you remove the file /home/user/.desktop_cmd_exec, as it seems, that this config file is somehow screwed up. Quote:
At the moment I do experience this only when alarms are triggered. Then I can not snooze/switch off, and hildon-home freezes. I just switched to alternate worldclock from CepiPerez / ade (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ght=worldclock) and am still testing, but it looks good. BTW: I already posted some scripts some time before in some other thread, but here I go again: Unzip the att at any place you like (I propose /home/user). You will find 4 scripts, which you may make executable or just call them with sh home sh desktop sh plugins sh pluginssave The first thing you should do is set up all your widgets and make a safe backup of the widget configuration with sh pluginssave Calling sh plugins will now restore all your applied widgets. Calling sh home will kill hildon-home and reenable your widgets. As a gift: Calling sh desktop will restart hildon-desktop, necessary sometimes, as it eats CPU/battery from time to time (solved). |
