Re: A forward thinking strategy for Nokia - Do we even need a mobile platform?

With the way Nokia treats the N900 why bother giving them any strategy they wont listen anyways.
The PR.1.3 update is most likely the last since even that took 7 months after 1.2 and look at all the phones that came out since then.
And as for Meego Has anyone actually seen it in action is it going to be like meamo5 or just some Android copy?
Once a smartphone comes out that has twice the specs as the N900 in terms of cpu, mem,on board flash memory, cam front/back,wifi b/g/n, and an OS that is cared for such as the Android then im switching.
Hopefully someone buys meamo5 from Nokia and makes a 2nd gen N900 or newer version cause its obvious Nokia has no intrest in it.
P.S. People dont be a fanboy it just limits your options.

Nokia are moving in that direction by the look of it with the N8 and the release of "Big Screen" and what they call terminal mode, where the phone/device knows the different characteristics of the screen you conect to and displays an appropriate custom display.

Only thing stopping someone doing similar with the N900 is lack of a hdmi/vga connection. Sure you can buy usb/vga connectors, but they are all different.

I would be very cool. At work I lug a laptop between offices, and connect up to keyboards/mice/monitors - I keep asking myself why I need to carry a full device - plugging in my N90 or other phone would be so much easier.
