Re: time for a new phone
My N900 keyboard is wearing out too. Specially the backspace.
I wish i had the money to buy another new N900, i'd like to keep a spare one closed in the box. :) My screen has lots of minor scratches, luckily they are only visible on a certain angle from a certain light source. What's pissing me off are the stuck pixels... 3 red stuck pixels. |

hmm, I asked Nokia Care and they told me the original comes together with the screen and they want 70€ for it.

mine is in brilliant condition slight scratch to the bevel where wedding ring caught it. dreading the day it dies. I tell everyone when they ask when are you getting a new phone i usually reply when there is something on the market that appeals to me, and i would have another n900 straightaway. i usually get bored within 6-8 months and am ready for a new device, but i'm still as amazed with this as the first day i got it.

so then how do you connect? i went to the connection/wireless-settings in android and chose my carrier from the list, but it still wouldnt connect anywhere. thats one thing i dont like about android. there is no seperate "connect/disconnect from internet" as in maemo, i'm only aware of the "turn wlan on/off" functionality. when the device disconnects from wlan and i want to reconnect, i have to turn wlan off, then on again, because it connects automatically when wlan is turned on. if there any software-switch to connect instead of turning wlan on/off by hardware (and similar for mobile internet)? |

Re: time for a new phone
I may have found a second phone now (when the price is announced/comes down to what i want to pay....) the samsung galaxy note, godda*m the more i look into this phone the more awesome it gets.
Would be nice if we had full maemo so we could remake it to other hardware or have the meego guys do some magic :) The only thing missing for me is a HW keyboard, but every thing else i ever wanted is in that phone, especially the BIG!!!! screen and the AWESOME RES!!!!, dual core is nice to, but i always wanted a big screen like that, and of course for keyboard a BT in a case or slide (like the N900) addon will be ok. I will however wait until someone makes ubuntu run on it, even if it's like easy debian. Also note that it has an awesome touchscreen, for mypaint this will be AWESOME, again the size and RES!!! Must admit im looking forward for a new device for once, no doubt thou that my N900's are going to be with me, the N900 for me is still one of the last Concorde moments, only way to have anything like it is to take something like the note and HACK THE SH*T out of it, make it run maemo/meego (or Cordia :)), or like i always wanted a FULL ubuntu (ARM) on it, with the phone controls (can be kbuntu mobile) |
Re: time for a new phone
Yes I too fell in love with the galaxy note since the moment I saw it.but I also like the N9 more and more every day. I don't think I can resist to out five months till the note arrives...
