Re: Nokia N950 vs Nokia N9
@IMA... Thanks for that pic.. I honestly like my phones heavy but thats quite big. N900 was the perfect size and weight ratio (MANLY PHONE).
As for N950 not being to customers other then developers is not my concern. I'm just wondering which phone will come out on top. Im pretty sure there are people on this forum that have used N950 and or N9. Im here wanting to know which one will be a better all-rounder. In every category that is. Thanks for trying to keep the Post On TOPIC |

N950 looks gorgeous among all the other devices. And it looks like Harmattan was already developed fully with both landscape and portrait. Step 5 of 5 = check. :)

Te N950 irl is an amazing device! Great in the hands! Keyboard is amazing and the slider is very cool!

Re: Nokia N950 vs Nokia N9
Who cares, the N950 is owned by just over 100 people who are now furiously porting their programs for no one.

Re: Nokia N950 vs Nokia N9
Am I missing something? Is the N950 going to be for sale?
Several people have said they'd buy an N950. While I'm sure it's a great device, I thought it was only ever going to be available through either the meego or nokia developer networks. Has this changed? guess it won't be useful for anything else so nokia might have a right-to-buy scheme for those who get one through a developer programme. If not, I might have to say how well I can "burn toast" too. |

N950: - Bigger size, odd handling, feels like a previous-generation phone to me (especially after using the N9 for a while). - I wouldn't call the hinge flimsy, but opening it is a little awkward. I personally don't like it. - The hardware keyboard feels a bit out of place with the mostly portrait-style OS (and really good VKB), but is otherwise the one advantage it has. N9: - Smaller, has a gorgeous and solid unibody design, fits perfectly into one hand (which makes a lot of sense with the portrait-focus of the OS). - Has a much better screen. - Works a lot better with the swipe UI, both because swipe works best when held in portrait, and because of the curved screen and bezel. - Has NFC Everything else being pretty much equal, I would say the N9 wins this one easily. Of course some are simply not looking for an actual phone like the N9, but that is a different story and has little to do with the objective merits of the two devices. If you are looking for something different, call it mobile computer, mini-netbook, whatever, then the N950 is obviously closer to that, and not everybody cares about ergonomic and aesthetic features of the hardware. But frankly I think that the N9 excels far more at being a phone than the N950 does at being a mobile computer or anything else really. The N950 still a good device of course, just not exceptionally awesome (as it should be). :) |
