I guess I feel lucky I don't have to make this choice.

N9 basically needs more time to mature SW-wise.
There's some nasty bugs that can cause considerable battery drain under the right conditions.
But it depends entirely on the config/usage scenarios.

First thing I'll do once I get my White 64GB N9...*
Is do a tear-down and doco that in more depth than the service manual.
I will probably doco it all over at iFixti.com....

Before doing so I'll look into alternative batteries & panels.
It'll be interesting if replacing either is feasible, doubtful.

*if the freaking thing is ever order-able in Australia!?

The 2 big things for me is an usefull GPS program while driving and the fact that is pentaband.

I love my n900, is great but I feel i can never trust the device when I need something quick and away from home.

Being in the UK I have no practical means of getting an N9 here, therefore I have ripped away the keyboard from my N900, glued the battery cover to the chassis, and removed my SD card and set Hildon to fixed portrait mode. I've also installed the manky new system font and deleted most of my useful applications.

Now I have an N9.

Nokia N9 is IMHO the best touch-only smartphone for Linux users :

there is a vnc app that runs from nokia on it, I haven't personally used it.

The N9 is sexy... All you have to do to convince yourself is just hold it in your hands, look into its screen...and you will fall in love.
People will stare at it in the bus and the streets, lol. Where with the N900 they just go "eww look at that 1980s beast!"

And this is from a guy that *HATES* virtual keyboards mind you, lol.
