Re: Community Store
I think that MeeCatalogue may be good, but it doesn't have many features.. and.. I can't find all the "famous" apps from the Community..
Also Beta app, precisely alerted, may be contained! It can start from actual repo, and every developer has to insert apps inside, with pictures and descriptions, But MeeCatalogue may present every app like a dedicated page which contains betas and finals, contacts and others.. |
Re: Community Store
just my 2 cents...
well, 4, i have both N900 and N9 :D does it make any sense to mix Fremantle and MeeGo/Harmattan apps ?!? what about FAM (Faster Application Manager, an apt- front-end)? it does the job pretty well for N900 and it is merely a matter of entering new URLs / repositories installed MeeCatalog last night but didn't get around to test it out completely yet, though |

On the repo? No problem. RMO's repo can be made so that we add "harmattan" to the dists list. As for the original topic, I completely agree that we should try to make an open version of the Store app. Actually, I think MeeCatalog would be a workable base to try to clone Store. It'd make for a good graphical package manager too (the one in Harmattan is junk!) |

i started playing around w/ buntu crap and was under the impression that they follow the RPM habit to have different sub-trees for different versions... Quote:

Re: Community Store
Ok, so.. is there anyone that knows how to work on Apps and improve MeeCatalog-base?

All that'll need to be done is shove the Harmattan repo into that. Harmattan packages would sit beside the Maemo ones in /pool, but they would never be referenced by the packages list for Maemo, and vice versa. See how Diablo etc. packages don't get pulled into Fremantle. Quote:
