The browser engine has been updated so that's already worth an update by itself.

That sounds a lot like the tablet, which also suffers from awful UI performance. Maybe it's a Qt bug that only shows itself on large resolutions? In any case, I've noticed that all parts of Sailfish will stutter to no end, but Android applications couldn't run smoother. If you pull up the Sailfish launcher on top of a running Android application, it'll be as smooth as it gets, but if you pull it up on a running Sailfish (Qt) application or any other part of Sailfish, it'll stutter and jerk like you wouldn't believe. Maybe the next Qt update will fix it, because it's obvious that it shouldn't stutter at all. The Jolla phone is more than five years old and - unless it runs out of RAM - the UI is perfectly smooth.

Please check:
du -xsh /var/lib/connman
for disk usage!
https://talk.maemo.org/showthread.ph...ht=connman+bug

It cost me 100MB from precious rootfs on JollaC (which is now freshly recovered from a failed upgrade: so stay on 3.2.0.8 ;)).
At least now I enlarged and have 3.6G for rootfs.

Not that bad I think;
Code:

[nemo@Sailfish ~]$
[nemo@Sailfish ~]$ devel-su du -xsh /var/lib/connman
Password:
448K        /var/lib/connman

Sounds reasonable. I have 88kB with only the two networks I know I have connected to.
Strange bug then having affected only a few devices storing those hour/minute/second files for all networks the device had seen.

I just got an update for 3.0.3.10. It says 20MB at Xperia X.

edit: i see this at Together:

2019-05-29: 3.0.3.10 as an OTA update was released to all subscribers. XA2: issue with showing the calling line number fixed (all devices); improvements to Android Support of XA2. Flashing scripts of XA2 allow both vendor binaries (v16 and v17) now. Installable images for Xperia XA2 devices will become available at https://shop.jolla.com/downloads/ .

Yeah, and about 240MB on XA2.

Re: Sailfish 3.0.3 Hossa

Android stability on the XA2 seems much improved. Before, it was always a question whether an Android app could be reactivated once you've opened another app or simply swiped to the app switcher. I had to restart Android support very often.

Also, when stopping Android support, the display isn't turned off anymore.

WLAN in Android still seems a hit-and-miss. But since WLAN on my XA2 prevents the CPU from sleeping, causing battery drain, I've disabled WLAN anyway...

If only they could communicate this better.

Well that corresponds perfectly to the observation that on XA2 nearly all updated packages start with "alien-" ;)

Also the thing with android apps not being able to keep the screen wake is solved. Overall it feels like running the android layer is not slowing down the system as much anymore. I had "do not start android layer on boot" actviated and thus could see the impact whenever an android app was started the first time after boot. Now with 3.0.3.10 running android support is much less "noticable" imo.

Re: Sailfish 3.0.3 Hossa

Hmm, after preparing for update and checking manually with version --dup it seems this 'update' for JollaC was a fake one, just incrementing the version number.
No new package besides downgrading tar and harbour-xxx from store!

So any JollaC user: no need, wait for next version...

Update was 5MB and Imap-Idle _not_ fixed...

[edit]Jolla1 and gmail... Maybe five minutes after reboot it worked but not after that... I send mail from another address to my gmail and nothing happened after 10 minutes... Not even i used another software and phone was "alive" in network... no, nothing... so it is not working... had to manually update... after 15 minutes.. so i call this not fixed... [/edit]

Idle IMAP seems to work for me, finally.
Or at least Exchange does. Nor sure if it is the same thing.

I wonder how much of that is because of Google doing "funny business" with IMAP IDLE. Ever since IDLE support was implemented in SFOS, it works just fine for me, on a hosted email provider. Even the mobile/wlan handover issue usually was just temporary.

Google seems to be less and less motivated to support open standards these days. I'm glad I don't depend on any of their services.

If you don't use any of the more recent Signal functionality, Whisperfish still works.

Wasn't it originally the other way around ? Eq. Android apps on XA2 could initially only use WiFi and not cellular data.

On the other hand these small minor updates keep coming in a rather quick succession, so this issue will hopefully be addressed and fixed soon. :)

THIS! :(

Got my XA2 somewhere in October. now is June. And it is still running And.... and I still keep my JollaC as still working perfectly (with Dalvik). Only reason to upgrade was camera but no, not yet after more than half a year not reliable.

So maybe I better would have kept my money as I did with not buying the X.
And that HW is still not working 100% (after how long?).
[end of rant]

without proper support from SONY or qualcomm or who ever makes the components that are problematic this will never be a little more than just a community port. With dalvik. But that's about it. Sad as it is, but that's the reality of sailfish today. :(
Any SA guy to share some info how it is with Jala Accione. AFAIK, that one also comes with android by default. Did anyone even install sailfish on it?
What about Inoi? I only see tablet listed with sailfish.

There is a guy on TJC that bought Accione P with sfos preinstalled for his company, seems to work ok but no mention of details.
I am still trying to get a reply from Jala how to flash sailfish without going to bolivia...

anyone else having gps problems?

I'm consistently finding that all mapping apps locate me about 100 miles east of my acual position.

All three major map apps from aptoide (maps.me, etc, etc), and maep from storeman.
All combinations of GPS options in settings (standard and custom).

Nope, works fine here (3.0.3.10, XA2). Both native (Pure maps, OSM Scout) and Android (PhoneTrack).

Have you tried pure GNSS in settings, without using online services?

never really managed to get the GPS to work without additional services; "maybe you are in a building or a tunnel".

The online service might be wrong, as it is crowd sourced. In the beginning, it did take quite a while to get a proper GNSS fix. The GPSInfo app in the store can tell how many satellites are in view and are being used. Being under open skies certainly helps, although I get reception now even indoors.
