Re: chumby

I uploaded a new version that corrects a black screen problem and implements some of my suggestions.
It's available here :

Please excuse my poor english.

Re: chumby

I can't make it work :(
I installed everything python related but here's what I get

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/grumby", line 744, in <module>
grumby = Grumby()
File "/usr/bin/grumby", line 130, in __init__
if self.channel_id == None:
AttributeError: 'Grumby' object has no attribute 'channel_id'

Any help?

Re: chumby

i think what made it work for me is that i first installed this version:
http://www.henso.com/files/grumby/
then i created a channel, pasted the info under the settings, then upgraded to this version:
http://maemo.ummagumma.org/

Re: chumby

Thanks, it now runs :) Unfortunately every time I try too play a video in grumby it crashes with this error:
$ grumby
/usr/bin/python2.5: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so: undefined symbol: esd_play_stream

After the install canola2 was broken too, with a env: python: No such file or directory error... d'oh!

(me feel stupid)

Re: chumby

The "no play video" error occurred for me after the first diablo software update. I had to remove all video-based selections from my channel. Upgrading to the latest chumby doesn't fix it since it appears to be a flash library related problem.

Re: chumby

I can live without it, too bad we will miss the Wallstrip channel (the right way to get bad news from the economics world)
Now I have just to figure out why canola2 decided not to work...

Re: chumby

Had the same problem installing, but this workaround worked for me, and now it works great--including video. Neat app! And a good way to get my friends/family intrigued by Chumby.

HI,
Sorry, I tuned it late. But I'm very interested in trying this. Unfortunately, the link to the code above doesn't work anymore. Could someone repost the code mentioned above?

Nevermind. I just experienced a 1D10T error.

Re: chumby

This would have been a nice app to reach Extras... what happen to it?
Required packages seem to be messed up (the python2.5-gnome-extras-diablo.deb killed canola in my case, we have a python2.5-gnome2-extras-diablo.deb available but can't be installed because of missing python-support) and the trick needed to make it work (install old release to import chumby code, then update to latest one) surely wasn't the best solution, but still I hope someone will fix all this (heck, I would do it myself if only I knew where to start :()
