Nope... that child is being exploited enough as it is... it was said earlier that the grip on what was real and what's TV is tenuous at best for a kid his age.


BTW, I didn't know there was a reality show involved. :eek:

Well here's the dialogue:

Dad: "Did you hear us calling your name at any name?"
Falcon: "Uhuh"
Dad & Mom: "You did?!"
Dad: "Why didn't you come out?"
Falcon: "Um.. you guys said.. that, um... we did this for the show."
Dad: "*pause* ....Yeahmmm..."
Mom : *inaudible*
Dad: "You didn't, ummm.. come out?"
Falcon: "No."
Dad: "*BIG SIGH*"

The boy answered completely in context.

Still I think you can look at it both ways... it seems that in this family they do a lot of stupid things "for the show" and maybe the boy learned that to be an universal excuse.
It doesn't have to be the father making a publicity stunt or something. There's a real danger that they could get sued or even take their children away.

Poetic justice.

If it turns out that the father (most likely suspect) orchestrated this....he's finished - hand him a revolver with one hot chamber.

Whether it was the kids idea, or whether he was knowingly involved, it doesn't matter....he's too young to be held culpable.

I never made a joke about a dead kid. I specifically stated that it was the surreal situation that tickled my dark sense of humor.

I acknowledged no such thing. The "I'm going to hell" is a common rhetorical device...not a literal admission of guilt. :rolleyes:

Not so fast, someone using the word "culpable", and "going to hell", sound to me like maybe you've attended some church or catholic school.

Either way, stating "I'm going to hell" after your statement shows you know what you were saying was not acceptable.

Seems like a complete admission of guilt to me. :p
