Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
had it for 9 months. even with the usb problem and getting an e7 and swapping it for another n900 it was worth it. i thought about getting an N9 but that just wouldnt of been the same. i hope this device lasts a long time or the cordia project is full released because yeah the device is great. but i love maemo hildon desktop

Re: Anyone regret buying N900?

and because I prefer to not be flinging SIM cards about and because I always have 2 n900s on at all times, I got one of those portable 3G-GSM - WiFi hotspot gadgets to address the need for top-speed access. That also keeps the roaming charges down to just voice/sms. My only regret about buying the n900 is discovering the fact that it will still be another year or two before anything appears to surpass it in the GSM phone has keyboard runs linux and can be hacked category. Android is about as much linux as Rowan Atkinson is a good stand-in for Chuck Norris. |

No I dont regret buying it. I sold it once and did very much regret that but luckily managed to buy it back :)
|
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
The N900 set a bar for me. Because of the N900 I know exactly what I look for in a smartphone. It taught me that I would never want an iOS phone or a phone without hardware keyboard.

Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
i regret buying mine. I used to walk into phone stores and get slightly giddy with all the different phones and types and special features that i could play with. Now i just walk in, stand in line for half an hour, tell them my n900 is playing up and send it away for repair while very anxiously hoping it's being fixed.
As much as i love it, i hate that it's made every other phones into, "Just another phone" |
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
nope I don't. I bought it twice
|
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
Nope, but I regret not getting another one (stupid micro USB issue...)
|
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
2nd best phone I ever owned (next to Nokia 3120 - meaning it did what it was meant to do perfectly). I purchased it the first week it came out, I flew out to NY to the Flagship store and picked one up. I knew EXACTLY what I was getting into and I I am very pleased with everything.

Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
HTC Wildfire > HTC Desire > Nokia N900 ... i'll buy another one even if it explodes for unknown reasons...
It's just perfect. At least, it doesn't restart when i'm surfing like the Desire does and i can really use the GPS. (Yes, the Desire restarts even there). |
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
Best thing i ever bought
|
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
Quite simply put, the fact this is my primary phone almost two years since it came out speaks volumes. I have an android phone for work and the only thing I use more on that phone than my N900 is Google Navigation. I really wish they'd brought over the full Ovi Maps experience to the N900. Might be my only regret with it so far.
Other than that the openess is something else, once you use this phone and try using an iphone or an android you quickly feel how limiting they are. It still sets it years ahead of other devices. Fcam and the things I can do with it wow my photo nerd friends, thats just one example. I hate to say it but its looking like the N9 is going to be my last Nokia. I can deal with a good vkb which by all reports it is supposed to have, but I will not deal with anything closed source like wp7. Android will have to suffice after my N9, but I won't be ecstatic about it. |
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
a friend told me about this phone. I was using a blackberry at the time. I read about how open it was and bought it right after release from newegg. 12/08/09 Paid $560. Still using it without a problem. Love the keyboard and how well it still operates. The only problem that's slowly becoming more important is surfing the net. The processor speed, lack of flash and browser are slowly becoming obsolete as compared to android. I'm afraid I will be moving onto an Android soon but to say I regret having the n900.......NO!!!!!!.

Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
i don't regret it. i have owned a 3210, 3310, 5510, 6230, cingular 8125, and htc kaiser. i even bought an ipod touch 4g out of curiousity but sold it to my aunt with some sales pitch that i'll turn it into a cheaper iphone 4 by buying apple peel. i got an n900 even though i barely know what open source is. all i know is you're free to do whatever you want. glad i made the right decision.
even till now, i'm having a hard time finding my next phone. n900 set the bar too high in meeting my expectation for a new device. i'm just leaning over android because of flash, ym/skype video call, and the support its getting. the closest device that passed my taste are mytouch 4g slide and sharp aquos 007sh... |
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
I gave my spare e to my son and regret doing it. I need to possess another, just in case i lose this one. Where is the best place to buy a new one. i dont want used one.

Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
NOPE! almost 2 yrs and still going strong, well thats after i got a replacement of corse
|
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
i dont regret buying it,
i only regret buying it in Qatar.... worst country of all to buy mobiles, 1. high prices 2. No international warranty 3. Any problem is attempted to be repaired, not replaced with like for like. In case it cannot be repaired, you need to BUY a new phone. I came back yesterday sick of arguing with the biggest nokia care center... cant believe nokia in this sick country. |
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
I regret buying only two units... :(

Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
No, n900 is super! n9 is another story. nice to have, but not so handy :)
|
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
I regret buying the N900 for one reason: it raised the bar too high.
I can't find a suitable replacement, and thanks to Nokia there isn't a worthy sucessor. If the N9 had a keyboard..I would consider it. And android is just not good enough. |
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
Nope! No! NO-NO-NO!
|
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
No regrets because it is not the N950, so Nokia has not sued me (yet) for buying N900's :)

Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
No I do not regret buying it but I do enjoy my N9 a lot more. Had fun with my N900 though.
|
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
best nokia i have owned and will remain to be !!
|
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
No regrets, even though I had the USB connector agony and I've been without the N900 for nearly 3 weeks while I persuade Nokia to do the right thing! The N900 is the ultimate Swiss army knife of mobile devices: it does pretty much everything, and if it doesn't then finding solutions is rarely far away.
Could it be better? Sure - longer battery life, better bluetooth, maybe... However, compared to other devices it wins on all-round capability, IMO. |
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
it's the best internet tablet/smartphone/handy/whatsoever on the world ^^
I don't regret it at all, i'm using it since two years now and it's way much better than iphone and android (which the n900 supports :D) i really love the keyboard of this device. in my opinion it is unbeatable as internet tablet/smartphone/handy/whatsoever by the other devices (at the moment) |
